It can be one of the most popular and only have 900 players. That doesn’t make it successful. It’s what people will call a fun server. You can turn seasonal classic in to a fun server. Just means there won’t be much competition.
If Vanilla sucks up players from TBC and Retail perhaps future expansions should be designed around Vanilla again.

How about make Vanilla again as WoW 2? Modern graphics etc. But totally new engine.
I don’t think they’re trying to make it hard. They’re just trying to fix an exploit, so guilds can’t cheese their way past the hardest bosses. So guilds have to face the bosses as they were designed and tuned.
There were a lot of guilds that never would have beaten bosses like Twin Emps, or certainly Sapphiron, without world buffs cheese. This forces guilds to meet the demands of the fight as it was designed, instead of just using world buffs as a cheat mode.
If Classic and Phase 6 Classic taught us anything its that contrary to popular belief a lot of players are playing both Classic and Retail concurrently.
So why did they release Naxx the same time as Retails new raid? to bolster Q4 numbers and remove the possibilitiy people would leave to play Cyberpunk (lol) with all this WoW content at their finger tips.
Classic Mastery or w/e there calling it is going to follow the same design
- Bolster Q4 numbers after a overall rocky year for Blizzard
- Try there best to drown out the competition in a flood of WoW content
The Negative effects this has on the WoW Community is neglible to them the only thing that matters is making sure your logging into some form of Blizzard IP whether that retail for 9.1.5, TBC Classic or Classic Relaunch.
They’re losing MAUs but the thousands and with New World just releasing they expect to lose more.
It’s a money grab and they will implement it poorly then support it even worse.
I cant agree here, I quit playing when tbc started as my server became deserted, sooo I tried to play tbc too but I remember it too well and it wasnt really fun for me the first time.
I dont think Im alone in this, I want to reroll Classic with a bunch of people and am looking forward to it.

If you think Classic Season is gonna be good, you better think twice. They can’t fix anything on time. It’s been one pile of dog S**t after another. Changes to slow or changes noone wanted. Bug after bug.
It’s because TBC is failing (retail has already failed) and thus Blizzard is desperately clinging to any hope of retaining its dwindling player base

Classic season of mastery is based on the gimmick that you are supposed to complete as much of the classic expansion within 12 months as is possible. Its like a race against time so to speak.
If you think that all of the classic content is going to work properly within that 12 months and actually give you a fair chance to complete all of it on time, you’re crazy.
What’s going to happen is a bunch of people are going to work hard to complete it but be bogged down by bugged quests, glitching raid bosses (because they are changing some stuff about bosses such as more debuff slots), etc. A very large majority of all of these changes are not going to be implemented properly and everyone’s gonna just waste their time.

Because they are bleeding subscribers at a rate never seen. They are willing to do a lot of things people have been asking for for YEARS. Just look at the changes they made to retail.
They are pulling multiple ripcords at this point.
