Why Playable San'layn or any form of vampire race doesn't work

“I dont understand anything about the lore that we dont know yet and I have an opinion and its very long”

So…like the forsaken.

Also like the forsaken.

Although I agree with you, it’s more because I think we have too many elves already.

This is a good post.

carpe jugulum…

I mean, that’s basically the motivation of the forsaken too, and they’re playable.

(Observation): This applies to several other races, the most notable being the Forsaken, and to a lesser extent, the Blood Elves. It certainly applies to the Goblins as well, with the only difference being they provide goods and services as absolutely cheaply as possible.

(Observation): This… again, applies to several races, again, the most notable being Forsaken, but then you’ve also got the Orcs who either initiate or blindly follow any mass genocide asked of them, whether demons are involved or it’s one of their own or, heck, even an undead elf.

(Observation): Again… Forsaken. Actually, Worgen as well. They have a dangerous bloodlust that can be provoked at the drop of a pin.

(Commentary): Worse races are playable.

The forsaken offered a lot in return whether intentionally or not though, they have a foothold in Eastern Kingdoms and everything. They are also experts with their chemical weapons such as the blight which is also a boon whether it is a questionable tactic or not.

look man, i don’t care if they work or not

i just wanna suck some blood

Is that what the kids call it these days?

Wow, people in these forums really go out of their way to show opposition to other players’ suggestions.

No less strange than having an Undead race.

you described the forsaken exactly. so, i guess playable san’layn can be a thing.

you know damn well what im saying about eating your own allies, and we saw a sanlayn doing, don’t try to grasp at straws here, they not eating their own dead specie(who is controversy) don’t make then less evil if they keep eating the other.

Jesus, you trying to bend and distort logic like that is laughable for sure

they have joy in inflicting pain not in “just eating”

they never harm their own, so you are still 100% wrong.

Because they still are in control of the Lich king, the undeads barely have any blood.

And this is not a matter of how they don’t drain "everything"around, just one is bad enough.

then they do not make sense as a race, case closed

DKs are not eating us, DKs freely come back to join the factions, are in small and controlable number, unlike races.

they were

yes, dks unlike a race, is a small group

but they stop being evil, stop doing evil deeds, they wanted to help their factions and the world, they freely come back to the factions, and ne
ver murder and make suffering to their own allies

so, you are just making false equivalence here.

not at all, their little interaction already show us enough of their nature.

Vampirism in wow is bad, in every stance is bad, we had vrykul with then, humans with then, elves with then, its bad its evil, don’t try to gloss over it. We don’t need or want a race like that in the horde.play a blood elf blood dk and be fine.

and of course all of his underlings to empower himself and attack the alliance, but sure, ignore tht and say its a isolated case, regardless being completely in-character of a bloodsucking evil thing

i rather build one and fight our way, thats way more horde

nonsense

no reason to change at all

yes?

nonsense

completely pointless and worse if you put benefits and costs in the table.

already covered by blood elves

again, no reason, no sense

OP, literally all of those things describe the Forsaken pretty well.

The only reason why San’layn do not work is because they cannot be a race, they need to be a class otherwise all of their cool vampire things would be stupid… Can you really imagine a San’layn rogue, or a San’layn warrior… They would be just another elf flavor.

I want the appearance as a customization. And I don’t care if it’s seen as too evil or whatever. I’ll have red eyes! You can always RP as a good vampire, with sparkles if that is your thing.

I can. I’m already bloodthirsty.

Death Knights stopped doing evil things? I guess I must have imagined slaughtering my way through Light’s Hope and the Ruby Sanctum. I bet I never raised a dragon broodmother into undeath either and especially never used the remnants of another dragon’s own life essence to raise it as a mount.

to their own factions? yes

as far my sources goes, those are not horde, so the point still stands.

Playable vampires are pretty standard in fantasy RPGs.

We already have undead, werewolves, death knights liberated from the Lich King, blood death knights, San’layn-inspired shadow priests abilities, demon summoners, fel-infused demon hunters…

It’s not hard to imagine a group of playable vampires, but I’m not sure that WoW really needs it. There are already a ton of “I’m so edgy” options.

There are also a lot of Elf options, and the San’layn have typically been Elves. There are even quite a few edgy Elves running around already, in the form of Void Elves and Demon Hunters.

So it’s not hard to imagine, but it strikes me as a little redundant.
