Why play caster in SSF?

The problem is that there is literally ten times as many melee queuing than casters.

do you find it somewhat mundane without having huge instability crits? idk but it feels kind of boring

Even if there were not, the system is biased even at its fairest against casters due to the caster specs being outnumbered.

If every spec was fine/viable you’d still see a lot of 3Mv1C. (I assume we don’t count Hunter as a caster)

I like the sustained pressure it can put out, and under the right circumstances it feels like it has some very good on demand burst. Incinerate feels good to press now, which I appreciate, even if the animation is still scuffed.

I’m almost 2400 in solo shuffle as Destro. It’s a blast but the other three DPS always out damage me.

Destro is going to fall off this week because it has the worst tier bonuses in the game.

It’s literally a damage decrease to wear set bonuses.

Aside from tanks aren’t there almost equal ranged and melee dps specs

Obv what player base actually plays is a diff story

BM/MM Hunter feels like facing a Warlock. Hunter feels like a better Lock because they have so much damage.

How often does this happen though? I can go days without seeing this.

omg… this is beyond gross, it’s like a half finished piss trickle of a spell.

found that running void tear can pump and it’s walls but yeah if you can like a 3rd bolt, tears, and lock missiles lasers it can hurt

Hunters are somewhat lacking in terms of abilities to mitigate damage they can’t kite.

13 DPS melee:

Ret, Frost, Unholy, Fury, Arms, Survival, Enhance, WW, Havoc, Outlaw, Sub, Assassination, and Feral

6 melee tanks:

Brew, Blood, Prot Warrior, Prot Pally, Guardian, and Vengeance

Casters have extreme disadvantages with tanks compared to melee DPS.

8 Casters:
Arcane, Fire, Frost, Affliction, Demo, Destro, Devastation, Ele, and Spriest

There’s way more melee players. Above 2300 I’m surprised when I see any caster, especially if it’s any Mage, Affliction, Boomkin, or even Demo at this point.

I sometimes play destro on my Wrath lock and I still cannot believe they changed the incinerate animation from the og. It’s night and day how much better the classic is.

2400 as destro thats real nice! I hit 1600 early in the season but I’ve been ping ponging back and forth between 1400-1600. Q times being what they are I really only sit down once or twice a week to spam games for vault. It just takes forever to get into matches it seems.

Do you have any advice for a destro trying to climb to 1800?

for the life of me I can’t understand it either and same with why CB cant not look like a chunk of human excrement

bring back old incinerate and old CB or at least let us glyph it.

Hardly ever cast Chaos Bolt unless you’re positive you’ll get them off, so Immolate and Incinerate if possible. Spam all instants like anything when it’s up, press it. Shadowburn at full health is real. Use Curses appropriately, and spam all instants. Make Soulburn macros for every spell you can.

Defense priority should be shortest to longest. Once you get higher, it gets real rough.

Is this with or without being trained? I find if I’m not trained I’m always the highest output if my teammate doesn’t need many peels. This is at 2250 ish.

But if I’m being trained then thats a different story. It’s very low output and more of forcing the other team into mistakes.

I get literally trained every single match lol, imagine being with 4 casters and 1 melee being a Ret, literally can’t even get close while they free cast and dispel bubble from 40 yards
