Humans need something to make them more interesting. Even their racials are pretty bland. Yes diplomacy is nice, but the rest are boring as hell. And what happened to sword spec? Gnome’s dagger spec got turned into a haste buff, but humans and orcs just lost theirs all together.
Because I get enough fantasy element from being able to use abilities not capable in real life.

I think people who take this position unwittingly betray themselves and reveal some telling character flaws.
Since we’re all humans “in rl” the assertion that human is a boring race seems to me a fundamental admission that you yourself are boring. I, for one, think this is easy to counter by simply disagreeing with the premise, as I do, and by saying I’m not bored with myself, nor do I find humans boring. In fact, part of the purpose of playing a human in an MMO, I think, is the fact that this human character is an extension of oneself that can be elevated to mythical heights with armor, weapons, story, and magical abilities. That, to me, is fundamentally not boring.
Playing a non-human character, while another fun way of experiencing MMO’s, can have the effect of twice or thrice removing oneself from the experience by further distancing their humanness from the character they’re playing, thus making it less relatable, and that is not to say unrelatable at all.
TLDR: I’m a human in real life. I like being a human in games. I want to acutely see myself in a character. I want to live the fantasy through my humanness. Fun ensues.
Also, yeah, pretty much all armor looks better on humans.

All transmog is designed to look good on humans. That’s the only reason to play one.
I will say this, at least they can make decent beards now instead of pineapple goatees.

My one human is a human because void elves can’t be paladins.
What’s wrong with playing a human? Most wow players are more like Kul Tirans iRL, maybe they just wanna know what it’s like to be skinny for a change .

Actually the human female is one of the better female models if they’d just get rid of the sameface. I changed my last one into a void elf but that could’ve been avoided with some better faces, don’t want no butterfaces.
