People just don’t want to lead. It’s not rocket science. It’s easier to just follow along and do damage. The community doesn’t really help criticizing every little mistake. Healing is just kinda boring. Respect to those who enjoy it but it will never be popular. I had high hopes for fist weaving but it’s really not implemented well. That was my original plan anyway.
The community makes it this way and Blizzard to a lesser extent. The barrier to entry is just more than most will tolerate.
Sorry I mean that as a healer you’re basically only healing the tank because once a mistake happens your dps is 1 shot so you can’t save them in those situations.
Also Mythic + rewards you in no extra way for doing those long dungeons so most hate those. You spend 45 minutes and someone screws up a mechanic, and the longer the dungeon the more likely that’s going to happen. I wish they drop the timer, give bosses loot tables and just run the thing.
Healing feels bad. In 9.0 when i healed on holy pal it felt like every heal did 8% hp and couldn’t keep up with damage . Compared to classic where I was doing 25-50% a heal.
Not at all. While I prefer shadow for leveling, occasionaly I’ll run into a really annoying situation whereupon I will switch to disc and simply win by attrition. Pure dps of course, has no such option.
Umm dungeons are significantly harder now. You seeem to be heavily over exaggerating.
Tanks also still do callouts all the time. I know because i dooo them, all the time.
There is a lot of leading as the tank. You have to know the route, what can and can’t be pulled together, awareness of healer and dps cd’s, correct positioning and marking. Call outs for all kinds of things.
Early in a season most people are extremely forgiving. For example I pulled the last boss in lower Kara without clearing all the trash… No one said anything bad about it at all, they just laughed it off. Its not until dungeons have been out for a couple of months that people expect you to know what you’re doing.
My biggest complaint about tanking though is the limited amount of spots in raids.
Yeah usually when I tank anything under a 20 I’m having to kick/stun all the important stuff, it feels like if I don’t kick something important the cast almost always goes off. When it does, and the group wipes, people blame the tank
The other day I had a guy(warrior) 20 ilvl above me(bdk) complaining about threat and how he had FOUR mobs attacking him and I needed to taunt. He was basically starting every fight instead of me. We had no misdirect/tricks. The result? he tells me to learn how to tank. He said he tanked. Yet how does he think I will taunt four different mobs and keep up with that? hah
I see something like this on a weekly basis. This is why people don’t tank. Because when you tank you stick your neck out and too many people in this game are thirsty to take a chop
