Why not remove the WoW forum

Because I don’t like content censored twice.

r/WoW Mods do the same.

They flag Jaina cosplays as NSFW because you can see a tiny bit of cleavage.

Popular subreddits are full of people repeating the same things over and over again, while downvoting to death anything they disagree with. There’s no real discussion.

You’re either “right” like everyone else or you’re wrong and not welcome.

Yeah, I agree, get rid of it. I spent way too much time here and if it went to Reddit I’d never post or comment.

I may have used sarcasm there at one point. puts $1 into the Sarcasm Jar

:sunglasses:

Yes delete the forums! Free me from my prison!

I kid. I like it here. Meet some great people on these forums.

You try to make a joke or a sarcastic post on Reddit and you get downvoted to the depths of hell. They are a bunch of killjoys over there. I enjoy the randomness of this forum. I like the off topic threads in this forum. Sometimes I like the troll threads too. The game is taken way to serious over in Reddit land.

I agree, we are a bunch of misfits here and I often enjoy the totally tangential stuff that comes up from time to time. Do I get steamed up on occasion? Absolutely, but passionate responses at least indicate that the game and its state are important to me. But now and again, I do enjoy a good lol.

I can’t stand reddit. Reading different conversations is really annoying. Most times it just devolves into a gigantic circle jerk. Then gotta scroll down all the way to see someone else’s opinion. I just go there to get a good laugh but mostly its terrible for actually discussing things, like WoW for example.

For starters, the forums keep complaints away from public view and gives Blizzard the ability to moderate if things get too bad. From an I hate Reddit perspective, I find it’s a certain culture there and it limits free exchange. I made the front page once, I stopped posting there soon after.

In my experience this varies a lot depending on the critical opinion in question. I find GD and r/wow about the same in terms of getting heard, with the main difference being with the set of opinions that’s “approved” (which interestingly, is quite different between the two). You’ll get sandbagged on either for posting against the grain.

I think the difference is on r/wow you’ll never make it to the front page. Here you just get hidden and don’t have to compete with the fan art circle jerk.

Ahh yeah that’s true. I rarely if ever post new threads there. Most of my participation is with replies on existing threads that’ve managed to work their way onto the front page.

Since when did Reddit work? It’s always seemed to me like they designed it to be as inconvenient as possible by default

forum is in checklist for shareholders under “community feedback”. Shareholders know that every good company has to have one of those “forums”.

But blizz is free to ignore it

I don’t know which one of the two is worse.

The Reddit hive mind ruins Reddit.

That and the sweaty virgins that moderate every subreddit because they need to feel powerful after getting picked on in school for their anime body pillow.

Of course they do. Goblins!! Air drop!!

Something along these lines when taken onboard aligns with the social credit system that has been applied to these forums.

Lets hope there aint a war huh?
