Why not in the middle of the night?

Find a job that doesn’t make you work GY and get over it

Game developers, QA, etc. do not get paid enough money to be on call at odd hours of the night in general, and definitely not for the convenience of the small and specific subset of players who prefer to play on Tuesday mornings.

I work a night shift and I have a life no problem.
The cost to having a building open is rather low… lights, +12% wage on 8hrs
Less people would be inconvenienced at 3AM, referring to Americans for an American game.
Should the devs be pissy if they work 1 night a week instead of the next day… when its “schedule”.
I do respect that you have the most intelligent retort so far :+1:t2:

My theory is there are trying to give NA servers less of a lead over the EU servers for Mythic raiding. The more this mmo tries to be an esport the more it falls down a rabbit hole. I subscribed to ea play that is how turned off to Blizzard I have become. This is my last MMO I will ever try, things have changed too much and not for the better.

Let’s put it this way: do you know how expensive 12% wages would be over an extended period of time? How would blizzard recoup this loss? From a business sense, it doesn’t make any. As far as who it is affecting, generally only people that play all the time anyway

They are human beings, not hospital workers. You can adapt after 16 years of the same ol’ stuff.

wouldn’t shutting them down in the middle of the night be a pain for people who can only play in the middle of the night?

the percentage is for the average worker devs prob make to much to give and extra 12% + if they are on call as someone suggested then it wouldn’t be all the time

And you know this … how?

There are timezones, you know.

Night shifts cost more money. They’d have to pay a shift differential to an hourly employee working 3rd shift. Essentially it would cost them time and a half to pay someone to do server maintenance at midnight instead of during routine business hours.

timezones exist. they are trying to accomodate the whole player base, not just those in your home town.

I believe that less ppl try playing at 3am than 10am as I said above

Something something timezones.

Talking about America since its an American game and most who play are in the nation.

12% is a lot of money when you are talking wages. Why do you think so many companies discourage employees from overtime? Even still, what does Blizzard have to gain from this? People who are already playing at every hour of the week like them more?

16 Years. The game has been out for 16 years. Every Tuesday…for the last 862ish Tuesdays, these threads…

Just take a nap.

Talking about american because americans only ever think about america. You are not even the biggest player base.

Thats more a discussion on right and wrong VS easy

Oo! Really?

That’s neat. Is it Asia that has the largest base?

I learn.

Cause their managers and higher ups are not there if they are doing that.

If you want to blame Tuesday for anything blame Microsoft for having patch Tuesdays. And they set Tuesdays for a reason because the fewest amount of people are working serious things during these times.
