I understand that, but it’s the funnel of the game to this or that content people don’t like for that gear it deceiving and causes distrust.
Catchup gear (Korthia) should invalidate LFR gear (213-220), not normal raid gear (226-233)
The same thing happens in WoW.
The same thing happens in 14.
Your anecdotal experience, as fine as it is, doesn’t speak for everyone in either game. The only difference is it’s easier to punish people for being toxic in 14. They’re the same players.
Bingo. And that same content in WoW also gets blasted where nobody says anything.
it’s mythic + gear .
Not at all.
It really doesn’t. At least it hasn’t yet. Who knows when it will.
How do you know? By your own admission in another thread, you don’t participate in group content in WoW. I do. I know how it is. You don’t.
It really does. I played the game since ARR. It absolutely, positively happens. I’ve seen this happen countless times in that game because I’ve played since 2014. People are going to be jerks in either game by choice.
Now, that doesn’t mean it WILL happen to you. But to say that it doesn’t happen in a game you have little experience in - while also acting like every WoW group is full of toxicity when you don’t group - is nonsense.
One point of failure in an encounter drives animosity. Decrementing keystones drives animosity. Transient nature of xrealm and groupfinders eliminate reputation. Class balance excludes entire playstyles (sometimes legitimately, disregarding players who only accept FotM).
Raider io and gearscore floors and all the exclusionary behavior that goes along with it are inevitable because game systems encourage it; Simple mistakes penalize players and very few (if any) systems offer incentives to tolerance or helpful playstyles.
I used to. Until the toxicity got to be too much. Tired of getting yelled at and crapped on, which is why I wanted to stay solo in WoW.
Like I said, it hasn’t happened yet. Maybe it does. But at least that game has moderation and I can report people there. I’m not too worried about the day it might happen.
It only causes distrust if you are a potato.
The game has been designed like this since launch. Either deal with it or quit.
I for one wouldn’t be averse to buffing M0 difficulty, buffing their loot to be 220, and re-scaling M+ loot to compensate
Agreed 100%
if people keep being toxic to you have you considered that it’s a you problem? If a person is toxic maybe he’s a jerk. But if multiple people are being toxic maybe you’re the issue here.
To people like you, not being a perfect player and occasionally messing up with my class and dungeon mechanics makes me an issue, and that I deserve every bit of insults and yelling that comes my way. That’s my only fault there, and people like you think that makes me deserve the abuse I get.
So I’m not going to put too much stock in your opinion there, because I know who you are and what you’re like.
I did a pug DoS key last week where I accidentally pulled a pat disengaging out of a mechanic.
After we finished I said in party “hey man my bad”
The responses were “no worries” and “it happens”. We completed the key and still timed it.
Everyone makes mistakes.
Casuals don’t need high level gear if they are not doing high level content. Everyone doesn’t get a trophy just for logging in to WoW.
Less and less people are doing just that, if you haven’t noticed.
Citation needed.
Blizzard launched the community council. If they’re pretending to listen to customers, you know things are getting bad.
I’m skeptical that thing is going to go anywhere. Seems like a big PR stunt to me, but time will tell.
