I used to think wrath was everything until I literally left a few months ago and just play classic era now. I would KILL FOR TBC CLASSIC. My favorite by far expansion.

I feel that was one of the bones I was thrown to compensate for having pretty elfs shoved into my mud hut.
I enjoyed leveling in TBC, but that is just me. I agree with Elfkin that the leveling experience is a good part of the game. I just did the Draenei start area and it was fun.
We need a TBC server.

TBC talents if they did not include all the damage / healing / damage reduction modifiers added in TBC but only added a few new tricks in the talents; could have been a ton better.
The talent trees right now in classic Era no matter the class offer more actual options because that crap does not exist.
The only problem with Classic Era is that warriors literally do 4X the damage of every class that is not a rogue / mage, and instead do 2-3x the damage of rogue and mage. Want to fix Era? Nerf warrior ny 75%
druids and pallies are better in tbc. mages get a water elemental cd that is amazing and arcane becomes an actual spec and not just a place to dump excess pts. hunters are better too. so are shadow priests. tbc is good and no dks. when pally and shaman gear drops in raids, both factions get to roll on it. use to irritate me when shammy gear dropped in mc for alliance raids. it was bad enough that 40 people were competing for tier and wham, shammy gear, absolutely wasting a slot.
the quality of life in tbc is very very good. druids and pallies could only be healers in classic vanilla raids. mages had an entire spec that was nearly useless. shadowpriests and locks had to vie for debuff slots and shadowpriests mana use was stupidly high. tbc improvements raised the game from only some people being able to use their spec options, to everybody having 3 viable specs.

i mean i love tbc, but if we cant do tbc, at least the new races with new class options, would be cool. i dunno how people could argue against karazhan and black temple though. my gosh.

Because Wrath was the most popular while Vanilla was the most asked for of all the private server types to make it into live. TBC is just in between. And you can still do 100% of everything from TBC in Wrath as well. Only in Cata does the old world get destroyed forever. As soon as Cata launches, all WoTLK servers will be deleted and we will have to pay to clone our toons into Cata. Dont pay to clone over, they get deleted. Wrath is about to be gone forever soon. You will never see it again because that is what you all asked for, the entire only world of Classic will get destroyed as well. When Cata comes, Classic is forever gone.
i played og tbc, then tbcc, and on retail, i select tbc as my time walking expac. lol

I read your post entirely and think you may be looking at things from a rose tinted glasses. I raided in every expansion and while you made a valid point with:
So even in TBC there are specs that just don’t rate for raid PvE. Sure, you can play them but they just as pointless to raid as the specs that are bad in vanilla.
Raid did not actually get better in TBC, its just different because the specs you wanted to play or found interesting are better, but that does not mean every spec is good or will be on a raid team; especially SWP.
Furthermore there is the problem of the TBC shaman meta because of Bloodlust being a thing, TLDR, TBC is not better, its just different.

Ohhh don’t mistake my “its not better” as objection to TBC era servers.
I would 100% play TBC era if it were a thing; I love TBC almost as much as i do Vanilla.

I don’t think this is necessary at all. The game wouldn’t be better in my opinion if you could just spec however and be good in every aspect of the game. Making choices about how to optimize your character for what is important to you is a lot more interesting.

Because Era dropped dead post TBC launch which told Blizz no TBC Era servers - but that was then.
If Era can hold onto its current popularity or increase it the odds of TBC Era servers looks a little better.

Every spec is viable in the vanilla version of the game people just don’t like that they’re not optimal in the specific ways that they want to play the game.

I dont like wrath as it is in 2023. Wrath was a billion times better in 2009. Now its million gold GDKPs and min maxing has ruined it.
WOTLK is essentially retail. I was always under the impression retail started with cata, but it 100% started with WOTLK.
TBC has glaring issues that, if fixed, would be a great expansion.
Yes because BT was held off to launch with MT which was a great idea. Imagine if MT launched on its own, like TOGC is right now? TBC would have died almost immediately.

It’s interesting because everyone thinks Wrath is so great for how many specs people could bring yet I was forced to play boomkin in raids because resto druids are just that bad.
