Why NIght fae is so OP

Agreed.

:frowning:

… bullying for liking things deemed outside what you’re “supposed” to like and be seriously sucks, eff ALL of that, but it’s not the same as someone going after you for being queer or a POC or a woman.

That’s why I said “similar” rather than “the same”. It’s still bullying, and we all agree it fricken sucks.

Rather than worry about the bullying and/or why they’re doing the bullying whether it’s because my skin is a certain color or if I like something I’m not supposed to like, I’d rather we instead focus on the bullies themselves.

At the end of the day… bullies will bully. If they can’t bully you because of one thing, they’ll find something else to bully you over instead. People do this crap because they want to, not because they seriously dislike that aspect about you.

A lot of times people bully because of low self-esteem. Sometimes they do it because it’s a power trip. If we could find ways to solve these behaviors or at least help people who exhibit them, then… the amount of bullying will decrease and everybody can be happier.

I did the campaign and have no idea what you’re talking about. Which I suspect is something shared by many players. Just kind of do the quests and enjoy the major parts of the story but gloss over a lot of details.

Not intentionally. Going back through them again I’ve enjoyed catching some things I missed. (And after leveling my first NF toon I loved doing the play during the initiation thingy. I was chuckling the whole time.)

They’re talking about the two stags, the night warrior and his husband. That part where the one gets cursed and you have to go get the item from Alexstrasza, and the items from those faeries over by that hellhole full of overpowered elite mobs, and then you need that book of secrets. That whole part.

Qadarin and Theirnax, who appear in like Chapter 3 and onward are husband and husband.

Which is fine, but the OP’s being ridiculous.

The whole fact that we have to explain what the OP meant, means that they did a decent job writing it in, because it just exists organically and you didn’t really even notice anything was different unless you were actually looking for it.

Which is exactly how a same-sex relationship should be!

If anything, this should be a perfect example of how a SSR ought to exist in the world. It just… exists and nobody bats an eye at it one way or the other.

I get this a lot. I am FtM but I also like unicorns and faeries and magic, I’m into the whole “cottage core” vibe, and teal is my favorite color. The sheer number of comments I get about not being manly enough for someone that wants to be perceived as a male is staggering.

Men can like cute stuff and not be gay!

Also - unrelated but didn’t want to start a whole topic on it - I went Night Fae because its hands down the best option for druids. But I really really want to be Venthyr which is arguably the worst. How boned would I be if I switch when it comes to getting into groups for M+ and raids and stuff? Would I be seriously gimping my bear-tank self if I switch to Venthyr?

I hate everything about NF, but I felt like that was what I had to choose at the time for my class.

There’s a few higher rated io guardian druids i think that are venthyr

It because there are a couple of people within the covenant campaign that are LGTBQ. If they make the covenant weaker than any other, except maybe Kyrian, you would have a lot of negative feedback from a incredibly small, but incredibly vocal segment of the population.

I’m okay with this because they have pretty spells.

To be fair, there were actually issues I had with it. Mostly that… Them being in a relationship is ultimately meaningless because there is no other information presented about the species they come from. If anything, the way it’s handled makes things worse because it almost assumes we are supposed to look at it as a husband and husband relationship when there is literally no indication that they reproduce or operate on the same scale as a race we are more accustomed to.

But I read too much into things and admittedly i dont think most people do.

You felt like you had to go NF?

What about Kyrian? Kyrian is rather powerful for Outlaw. I dunno about the other two specs, but hot dang. Those potions are ridiculous, not to mention the class ability, lol.

My Outlaw is a Kyrian and I am most likely going Kyrian on all of my Rogues.

I agree with most of what you said, save for this part.

There are likely SOME bigots out there, but I’d be willing to bet, that a fair amount of them really don’t dislike you just because you’re LGBTQ or PoC or what-not.

They are just using that as an “in” because they haven’t found anything else yet. I’ve known some bullies who have PoC friends and then go attack someone with the N-word for example. They aren’t doing it because they dislike PoC, they’re doing it because they dislike the person and the N-word was the easiest attack they could think of at the time.

I feel like that’s a bigger thing than some realize

That’s a common misstep though.

“Person X is racist, they have a black friend!” Is a common defense.

It doesn’t actually mean they’re not racist, they just like having a shield, or they be making an exception for “one of the good ones”.

But they are indeed racist.

It sucks, but it makes sense at the same time.

You accidentally cut someone off while you’re driving, and they flip you the bird and yell the N-word at you because you happen to be black. Said person probably doesn’t hate blacks, that’s just the quickest thing they could think of at the time to display their anger at you. It’s fricken petty, it sucks, but… what can you do?

… what… does that have to do with anything?

In the least insulting way I can put this, this is the most Straight minded way of thinking about things if “why they have couple if no baby making?”

If they’re calling someone that word, they most definitely think of PoC as lesser, otherwise why use that word to insult if you didn’t think it was an insult in the first place?

Maybe I haven’t gotten to it yet. I just dipped my toes into it after hitting 60 on that toon.
