When I said “I’m tired of being capped on Flightstones,” the answer was supposed to be to remove the arbitrary cap, not nerf the rate at which I can get stones by more than 50%.
It’s like for every one thing about this expansion that I like, there’s 3 bugs and 4 bad design choices I have to put up with. It’s getting tiring.
I don’t know if anyone noticed, or maybe I’m bugged, but the turn in for wax is back to 5 valorstones again instead of 2. (They may have mentioned this somewhere and I missed it)
So it’s back to a 1:1 ratio. Haven’t tested to see if the 25 turn in cap is still there though.
There’s been exactly two mmos where this is possible. ESO lets you do this – you can send set items to other characters or redeem tokens to create them from your collection. Pretty awesome feature. The currencies involved in buying some of the gear items (monster sets) are shared if memory serves right too.
The other mmo where it was possibly the last time I played a few years back was SWTOR. THe most recent expansion I think nerfed and/or removed it, but you used to be able to take legendary gear and pull the mods out of it then use that on another character. You could get a legendary item out of basically salvaging the gear shells and then in turn use those to create legendary items for other characters too. It was a really great system. I want to say you could trade the set shells between characters too, but it’s been too long.
Not surprisingly, both games saw people dump a ton of time into experiencing a large number of classes / roles. Even the most casual folks tended to have at least 3 or 4 they played.
Yeah, the hype is dying quick for me. This feels like such a rushed/unpolished product. The concepts and art are amazing, but the execution of it all is bad.
Expansion sales plateaued, they got their sub numbers the massive boost they needed for the next investor report so all the flowery “we listened” bull is now getting dropped and the mass nerfs and endless treadmill are being implemented.
Always someone on an alt coming to be Blizzard’s Knight in shining armor. The people who put together those groups aren’t going to have much more of a challenge running low level mythics quickly and repeatedly. So who does this actually punish?
It IS a rushed, unfinished product. TWW came out about 2 months earlier than the average expansion gap in the past. Dragonflight Season 4 tanked HARD very early on, people were quitting and they needed to rebound subscriptions and play time before the Q3 investor report. So they rushed the expansion out literally 1 day short of 1 month before report numbers are finalized (meaning every single subscription made during the release month would be on the investor report) because if they followed the normal gap the expansion would have released 1 month after the report numbers were finalized. Report is due September 30th, numbers are finalized shortly before.
Just when you think the madness of pulling an entire instance is calming itself, we receive new motivation to do anything we can to get to the last boss and move on to the next last boss.
Maybe I don’t see the issue how valorstones are now but doesn’t feel like a big deal. Though I will say for majority that getting no valorstones at the end of each boss before the final one, and THEN getting valorstones on the final boss is rather annoying.
