the bad past I used was meant classic.
the good examples I used from the past came from tbc to WoD, a big difference surprise.
or do you want to introduce/remove bad systems again into/from retail? how i look at your character we do not need demon hunters at all and transmog too.
edit: (actually removing demon hunters is actually a good thing)

Nope. Please stop trying to argue this. I did a lot of pvp from wrath to wod and PvE was a very small element, if not at all. You could still perform at the very highest level without having any PvE gear.
They have made the two work before, 0 reason it canāt work now.

Raids and dungeons have nothing to do with each other. They work very differently.
Sorry your point being?
Yeah I am PvPing on my Paladin because I want them weekly goodies. You bet Iām going to use them to my advantage in PvE too. (Once I get the Warlord trophy to upgrade my trinket).
That is, until we all became unable to locate the actual vendors. Weāre just that stupid.

Mechanic wise of course but weāre talking about gear hereā¦

Yet players having to grind for a completely different set of gear just to PvP because PvE gear was deliberately put at a disadvantage isnāt absurd in your mind.
I recall the MoP legendary cloak required PvP to obtain, and of course, once it was obtained, its effects were cancelled when in battlegrounds to ensure PvPers werenāt put at a disadvantage.
Omg of course they had too. Why would PvE GEAR be good in PvP when we already have PvP gear???

People still comparing the 2 whole battlegrounds in MoP you needed for the cloak, unrated battlegrounds at that, to what PvPers have to do in BFA. Itās hilarious how out of touch GD posters can be.

I asked why they even removed resilience / PvP vendors earlier and after thinking for 10 minutes or so, Iām pretty sure itās purely to increase your time logged in.
If every piece of gear is āviableā for every activity, that leaves you with basically infinite grinding to keep up with everyone else, running as much content as possible rather than capping your points for the week and being finished gear wise.
This is especially bad in PvP where having less gear than another player is going to result in you being dunked on purely because you didnāt spend 30 hours running mythic+ this week and they did.

Because itās cheaper to not spend resources making PvP gear. They most likely wonāt have any in SL.
All these people saying āBECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO EXPERIENCE THE GAME!ā or āITāS A PVE GAME!ā is absolutely stupid. Blizzard doesnāt care what you do as long as you keep logging in.

āItās only 15 minutes a day.ā
Is really starting to sound creepy the more I see it parroted around here.

I think itās fair that if you do every content a game has to offer that you would have an advantage, doesnāt that just seem obvious.
And it is possible to gear up solely from pvp btw, albeit more cumbersome than m+ for example.
Serious raiders or m+ runners also do arena solely for the corrupted piece and extra AP you get because it gives them an advantage.

Iām talking about the whole concept. Thereās a lot more than gear to it.
LichKong gets it.
Itās pretty clear that isnāt the direction WoW is heading in and being good in both types of content will ultimately benefit the player in both PvE and PvP.
I would be onboard with your idea if WoW returned to PvE / PvP servers. In an exclusive PvP server it makes sense that much of the gearing would revolve around it.
So if they do that all power to your idea.
āNo one cares we do not live in the pastā like you said.
I like the present, thanks!
There is some reason they changed things then and since I never straight PvPād I canāt even suggest what might have happened.
Why must I be careful doing pve so I donāt wander too close to a hidden alliance pvp trap base? Why do I have to spend 5 minutes with bwonsamdi to keep from getting attacked by pvp horny randoms?
It is a mystery.
Well for years this new team has made us do PVP in order to get PVE items so it only seems right that you should PVE in order to get PVP items. That is the only way you will get me to do any PVP - gate PVE items behind horde dominiate favortism.
Since when did you have to do pvp for pve gear? If anything itās been the opposite.
My solution for the whole pvp gear situation would have been something like this:
All corruption gear active effects, both positive and negative, would be removed from gear the moment you either step into a bg or turn on warmode. That way you wouldnāt be slowed or have to get out of the way of big swirling eyeballs or whatever. Your gear would just be gear. It turns back on when you turn off warmode or go into a pve instance.
Iād then introduce vendors who, for currency earned doing pvp activities, would provide you with items that would add certain effects to your gear that only comes into effect in those same situations. A bit like a glyph perhaps, but with levels so that the more currency you gather, the better you can make the gear, pvp-wise. Each level would cost a lot more of that currency. Something like that.
You would still need to do some pve activities to get the base gear but it would allow those who enjoy both pve and pvp a chance to participate.

This kind of makes no sense. Doing 3 random queueable bgs in MoP and a couple games for a couple weeks for conflict and strife (which can also be yoloed) doesnāt compare to the horrorshow that is trying to get into m10-15 or farming residuum nonstop for the whole span of the expansion even if you donāt care about it but must do it to stay competitive.
