Why is WM pointless?

Why am I playing on War Mode expecting to be geared to fight against another player? Come on, Blizzard… War Mode is supposed to gear the player for PvP encounters… right? Like, am I wrong? If not, then why am I consistently losing versatility as I level up in WM? I think this is backwards.

WM doesn’t provide meaningful rewards towards gearing.

100 bloody tokens per wq at 90, crate farming is a slightly different story but at its core WM is just for wpvp.

As far as “losing vers” I’m not actually sure what you’re doing there. Is the context for you leveling? You won’t get any pvp gear from quests and the stats you get from the pve gear awarded from quests and drops will not always have vers, it’s just RNG.

WM while leveling is for the extra xp, nothing more.

WM while leveling is also good for Honor if you’re Alliance.

Even though you don’t get Conquest for crates until you’re level capped, you can get a ton of honor just casually grabbing crates as they drop since they’re free on Alliance. I leveled my Fury Warrior through WQs and replaying the story and had a ton of Honor by the end of it.

@ OP, you may be losing Vers because the requirements for x% change and increase as you level up. So if you’re just working with quest rewards you’re probably cycling gear in and out that trades secondary stats quest to quest, so having a non-static Vers stat, plus leveling up meaning you need more Vers to maintain whatever +% you have probably sees your Vers decreasing.

Leveling in WM is really only worth if you’re playing Alliance.

WM introduced in BFA when artifact power like resources still exist and the world quest is a major source of them. WM provide bonus resources and thus encourage people to toggle it on. Now world quests are jokes and that’s why you find WM pointless.
