Hunger is actually pretty rare in the U.S. compared to other countries, it doesn’t even register among the top worst spots. We have many civil issues, but people actually starving to death is very uncommon. Top issues the poor face are medicine and shelter.

Communism as a idea seems fantastic, but apply it to humans it will always turn into a dictatorship full of corruption. You will never EVER have a ‘true’ communist society due to human nature and its constant struggle for power.
There has been no communist countries or regimes that didn’t end up with their own people starving and/or a genocide.
