WoW forums are great. Everyone who makes a topic post always says “I represent the majority of WoW players, who do and don’t want this”.
I, and the majority of people in my guild, were excited about classic BGs. We like the raiding etc… but we came for the BGs. Everyone was unhappy that WSG wasn’t released with the launch of classic, that’s what we’re all here for.
So even if you ignore all the people (myself included) crying about getting ganked etc… everyone has a right to like what they like. Many of us like BGs and wanted them before anything - I would have been playing them without honor system. Many like wPVP. If you’re certain that that’s the case, then have no fear, wPVP isn’t going away! You can continue to go gank the leveling up horde in peace!
Yeah it’s funny right? People defend PvP servers to the death by saying that if you rolled here you should expect PvP and forgo PvP… but you need to PvE in order to get leveled and geared for PvP. They’re basically saying that it’s okay to camp the instances that hold the best PvP gear (and access to leveling) so that they can’t have any competition, and that it’s totally fine and fair and balanced to do it.
Dark Iron (pvp) was a server that was very similar to Faerlina. Obviously the total population wasn’t as high, but it was the webcomic server where all the fans of webcomic creators like Penny Arcade, PVP, CAD, etc rolled. The Penny Arcade guild ended up turning into an enormous alliance of guilds in the same way Olympus has. It was actually a lot of fun playing on that server back then.
Then your expectations weren’t realistic. Classic is not Vanilla WoW. You were never going to get that old school experience with this game. Most people understood that horde was going to dominate pvp servers, like they’ve done in retail for over a decade now. Not sure how you missed the memo.
Just FYI this doesn’t work, because invisibility potions have a fade timer. If people are camping the FP, then as soon as you land even if you pop one they can attack you and break your “fade”. Same after you rez; particularly if people are using the Spy addon, which gives them the easy option to target you even if you rez out of their immediate line of sight when trying to rez / invis / escape.
