idk why OP. People on GD just seem to be upset with it for some reason
Here’s the thing… you’re actually proving a point I made earlier.
Notice that you said that two of the three people I mentioned were D-bags… yet, at no point did I post why these players may have raised their objections.
- Perhaps the raider believes, as has been posted on these forums, that LFR does a disservice to the very people who use it. (I actually ascribe to this, but that is beyond this thread.)
- Perhaps the pro-RaiderIO player has personal experiences that justify RaiderIO, ones he would rather other player not have to deal with.
Certainly, there are jerks at every level of gameplay. My point here is that, instead of listening to the arguments of others and then making our decisions, we start out with an assumption about others and judge them from there… and that these assumptions are created in order to justify our world-view.
And that is…
wait for it…
Toxic!
The truth of the matter is most people that raid mythic could honestly not care less what johnny casual is wearing. Most have a problem with individual issues such as most classes only getting 5-ish drops from the raid (due to benthic, crafting, and residuum taking up every other slot) and even then THOSE spots aren’t guarenteed when you can get a random titanforge to cap.
Asking for the removal of titanforging or nerfs to benthic gear (mainly so they straight up don’t work in the raid) has absolutely nothing to do with “taking away gear from casuals” like GD wants to parrot. It’s to make the gearing curve make sense AT ALL. 445 > 425 so 445 SHOULD be better than 425. It’s not a hard concept.
#truthbombs
People don’t want to think. It’s literally happening in a different thread with people making false accusations at me and the OP
I’ve seen them.
But there is a key difference between disliking a system, and disliking the people who engage in those systems.
I know I saw it… I keep thinking about copying and pasting the OP and asking people to tell me the exactly lines that say what they are claiming. But then I keep thinking why bother… You saw me this weekend all up in those Pict threads. I am not above getting muddy when someone is legit trolling, but the thread now isn’t bad… he even says that he plans to still play the next expansion for crying out loud.
Whoever, Blizzard specifically labled Benthic gear as an alternative gearing path, for those who did not want to Raid, or Mythic+
Benthic gear is hard capped at 425, and due to the side effects sims better than high level gear, because blizzards turned all the items into stat sticks, and throughoutly messed up the scaling, the benthic gear turns out better due to effects.
Plenty of people are fine with the Benthic gear not working in the Eternal Palace, but Benthic gear was never BiS for PvP or Mythic+ Dungeons, only Eternal Palace.
The people that want Benthic’s item level nerfed, are simply looking to incease the power gap between people who do and don’t raid / mythic+
Even though Benthic cannot titan forge past 425, and the most luck your going to get is a socket.
This is less an issue with Benthic gear, and more an issue with Blizzard messing up itemization and stat priorities. imho.
Knock the Eternal Palace off the benthic gear, and leave it alone for those who want a meaningful progression outside of raiding and Mythic+
Hold your horses bro, you can’t discredit my proof before I’ve even presented it.
Again, you are reading what you want into what I wrote.
“People” doesn’t necessitate “everyone”.
It’s almost like you started with an opinion… and were looking to justify it…
Horses held. I’m not trying to discredit your proof…
…
… where is it, by the way?
don’t think many players look down on sweaty tryhards
they just want sweaty tryhards to stop suggesting they should be the standard for balancing and game enjoyment
a huge chunk of sweaty tryhards constantly drop condescension on others, and have extremely low patience with anything that slows them down leading to lots of friction with other players
I told you it would be awhile. I’m not doing all the searching and quoting on my phone.
I guess I missed that post?
But you are one of the ones that does apparently
Striving for excellence is fine, a great endeavor. But what if the very best Chess players demanded all the rest of us play without our Queens? Or demanded we play on boards with only 60 squares? Seldom does one of you so called elitists come here to GD without whining about some casual getting a hyper rare upgrade piece of loot that made you cry. Or wanting to take away all purple gear from casuals because it’s “Welfare”. Or whining about LFR, or whining about wasting resources on pet battles for God’s sake. Being good is just not good enough…for you. Everyone else has to be broken. That is the rub.
The fact that you feel the need to categorize them as “sweaty tryhards” invalidates the “no one looks down on”.
I’m still waiting for someone to explain to me what’s wrong with being sweaty while trying hard.
Like, don’t put that evil on me, man.
Not one single thing is wrong with it. I don’t think people are looked down for it, I think they are more for their arrogance and the look at me attitude. I’m as casual as there is in this game, I take breaks for long periods at a time, but I am impressed with the abilities of some of the players that play WoW. What I am not impressed with is some of their attitudes and the if you don’t do as well as I do you fail at life.
I would say something… but… I don’t want a forum suspension. ahem
