I’m not the best player out there but I do try. I do read guides and sim and pay attention to my gear. I’ve also been in guilds that were more casual than that and I only offered to help anyone that wanted to learn how to use these tools (how to sim, look at logs etc). I’ve heard the term tossed around by people who were perfectly happy with their gameplay about people who put more effort in and in so doing are better at what they do. Whether you think you’re better or not, whether you treat anyone as inferior or not, just the fact that you can and do use things available to you to improve yourself often nets you that reputation. Only elitist tryhards sim.
It is only looked down up upon when “achiever” gloats and tries to belittle people who do not share his/her opinions and views this game as a game and not a career or worthy life-skill.

What is wrong if no one cares what you do with your spare time?

Standards are generally hated by people who can’t meet them.
