I have finished the single player aspect of Proudmoore and have exalted but I have not done the 5 man required to get a nation united or whatever that crap is I mean 99.9 % is[ single player but now much like the nightfallen required a raid you decide a single player reward must demand atleast a 5 man intstance.
I’m in the same boat. Dungeons are fun.
There is a 5 man required alliance side? I haven’t gotten to that point on my alliance guy, but I don’t remember one horde side.
The Pride of Kul Tiras sequence requires four different dungeons, ending with a heroic Siege of Boralus run.
That is weird. That is the alliance equivalent to Zandalar forever correct?
Wonder why they don’t have the same requirement horde side.
You are correct.
And I have no earthly idea.
The dungeons weren’t so bad. They can be completed on normal if you really dislike dungeons. The SoB used to be mythic only and now has a heroic setting so you can queue for it in the dungeon finder.
I like dungeons and working with groups though, so it was pretty fun to me.
This is a common technique in MMO’s that has been used since WoW’s earliest incarnations. And in other games as well. You go through most of it alone and then to have people go into group content together, the quest ends in a 5 man or some kind of dungeon requiring more than one person.
You had to do it in Legion to get the pillars of creation and to get things like Balance of Power done for the raid. You have to do it here. Not that big of a deal.
WoW has always tucked away storyline resolution in dungeons to an extent, but it went overboard in Legion.
In Legion, crafting professions came to a halt if you didn’t run dungeons. You could finish leveling up the skill with the Darkmoon Faire every month, but you weren’t going to be learning any new recipes or patterns because those were still locked up by the dungeon stories. It incentivized waiting until as late as possible in the game in terms of questing, class storyline, and profession progress to run the dungeons so you didn’t end up needing to run a dungeon a second or third time. That’s just not good design.
I don’t think Blizzard has even begun to hear the level of complaints that unlocking Kul Tirans are going to cause.
Because the core of this game is Multi-Player. It is not a single player game, hence the label “MMO”.
To do the unlock? All of the dungeons on Kul’Tiras are required as part of the Jaina storyline. Oddly though, none are required for the Horde side lol.
Professions on the whole have been neglected by Blizzard lately, and I think their motions throughout Legion weren’t a move in the right direction regarding them. However, I also don’t think Kul Tirans are going to cause much of a stink. It’s only once, after all.
For Horde allied races, the core seems to be single-player…
Well balls.
I am liking the Jania story a lot on my alliance guy, but I really haven’t enjoyed dungeons since, jeez, I guess WOTLK and stopped doing them altogether just as MOP came out.
Not saying it’s justified, but I think the reason is because the Horde questing experience is just them losing repeatedly.
Which means - they are also required for the new opposite faction mounts coming (the horse for the horde and the wolf for the alliance).
Also, you have to do them in order as part of the quest line.
Oh. Well that is just a pickle.
I suppose I am going to be hitting some dungeons in my near future. Maybe I will just pretend I am a dps class and no one will notice.
Just get a two handed weapon and switch to ret since and don’t worry about the azertite stats since all of them except siege can be done on normal. I did them all as shadow and it was fine (other than one tank that kept getting in the water on the last boss of siege lol).
I didn’t find the requirement to be very taxing really. Normal mode dungeons is pretty chill, even pugs. The SoB Heroic was also interesting.
I think it allows players to get introduced to different aspects of the game if they want to complete the “entire” story. Who knows, maybe you will be that player that falls in love with Dungeons/group content.
Thank you for the advice.
