Legion AP and azerite neck stuff came naturally because I world quest a lot. I’m bummed about our legendaries and the artifacts.
I think essences are just a neat way to develop increased power levels via various gameplay choices rather than raw ilvl. It gives everyone one more means by which to advance rather than raid or die.
I agree, though, essences should be account bound. Get them once and have access by all.
This way I can make a PvP toon, a PVE toon, and my third could wield the fruit of both. This leads to unchartered theorycrafting and overall does not diminish time played.

If they followed that logic for BFA then many player wouldn’t mind playing alts. We told them in Legion, but they ignored. I’m kind of happy they’re doing away with it because they were totally incapable of improvising it.

I agree that BfA has been insanely unfriendly to alts, and I think that if the devs had loosened some restrictions early in 8.3, it would have made the overall game more fun, more playable, and more sustainable as they turned to finishing touches for Shadowlands. I am baffled and disappointed that they kept everything so dumb and so hard for so long. I’m still finding ways to make gold and keep content relevant for my stable of alts as I wait for the pre-patch, but the failure to make 8.3 more alt-friendly was a massive missed opportunity.

Thats not the same thing.
Legendaries/conduits/soulbinds will all be mandatory for mid and upper tier progress. Making it hell on alts.
Gotta grind to get stygia to make your legendaries and level your conduits. Level your soulbinds. Get your conduits or trust in the 500 stygia trade for aconduit and then grind it up with more stygia.
Also bear in mind every soulbind is SPEC specific. So you gotta grind those for every alt for every spec youd like access to.
Soulbinds/conduits/legendaries are just a replacement of azerite armor/essences.
I’d like more alt friends.
Is it that bad? Like, how bad would it be to have a dedicated main and comain compared to say BFA?
I just want to heal and dps again

Hmm not sure but if you look at their post history they’re not very informed of the game so take that for what you will.
