Why is it so hard to make friends in wow?

I remember playing Ultima Online. If you didnt have at least one friend in that game, someone was gonna kill you, take all your stuff and laugh all the way to the bank. Literally. Even if you had a friend that could easily happen. There were literal communities in that game that developed to help each other “live” and thrive.

I tried whispering maybe 20 people the day my sub ran out so I could give away my gold. Not ONE single person responded. I finally had to come make a forum post offering my stuff to the first person to come and get it. The only way this is a social game anymore is if youre already in discord with people. Otherwise typing seems to only work in PuG groups.

I spent more time of my 6 month sub on here talking to people than I did playing the game.

I’ve definitely spent more time talking in the forums the past few years than I have talking in game.

Here is the trick. Just talk to people like they are already your friend. Either you will click and make a new friend or you wont.

it’s hard to find friends when rushing though daily’s. who has time to talk?

Ok, tell me the truth…

Does this tabard make me look fat?

I did have one friend in wow for awhile,I would get on and venture with him during Wotlk as years went by that all changed . Something during Mop ,don’t what cause this player personality to change from a kind out going person to a back biting individual to the point where I couldn’t be a friend or friendly . It’s sad that way.

you look great love :kissing_heart:  :two_hearts:

I should warn you, I am not a good friend.

This is deffo the big one. The difference between the communities on say classic realms where I see the same people daily and on retail outside of RP realms is kinda nutty.

Keep trying, OP. Be yourself, get out there. It might take a bit but you’ll eventually get a crew going. GL.

Because it’s no longer a community.

You have a talent for making friends then. You could teach that skill set to others if you interested.

I don’t think there are classes like that anywhere. hm.

Because everything is geared towards one time interaction with a random player you will never talk to again.
