Why is it difficult for most people to learn raids above LFR?

It is difficult due to the exclusionary nature of raiding and the raiding community in general. So many of the comments in this thread are dripping with the stereotypical better-than-you arrogance that is ruining the raiding community. Of course these are the same people that are blaming Blizzard for ruining WoW.

Even in normal raiding, people are insufferable. I mean, if you are in a normal difficulty raid group you are NOT an elite raider, sorry. This doesn’t stop these people from behaving like they are though. They have their DPS meters and call out anyone who isnt fully realizing their DPS potential. Often times this is done oblivious to boss mechanics, etc. At the end of the day, if the group is still able to handily defeat the boss and everyone is contributing meaningfully then what’s the issue? A 15 minute fight takes an additional 10 seconds or so.

To get better at raiding you need to be able to challenge yourself. Moving up a raid tier ia the best way to do that but the community “up there” doesn’t want the company for the most part.

So to answer your question, look in the mirror first. If what i said does not apply to you than look at the other people in your raid group. You’ll see what i am talking about.
