It’s a matter of over sanitizing and censoring across everything in people’s lives. Some of us don’t get offended at a joke that “targets” whatever demographic each of us are. Not all of us think we’re “marginalized” victims. We’re tired of seeing every platform erase people’s thoughts and opinions that don’t line up with what a handful of people believe fits the new narrative on society.

Afrasiabi has been removed from the game. his replacement just says: “nothing to see here, move along!”
it deliberately feels like they’re erasing the past and denying it ever happened. history was NOT made so people can change it on a whim whenever they’re “offended” by some thing. we’re suppose to LEARN from history, and better ourselves as human beings…but i guess that makes one a ████ now. ._.
the day will come, when we’re forced to play One class, One race and One gender, all because someone had a tantrum over “equality” or some ████████. man, at least in FF XIV races and genders don’t mean jack████, and that you just play whatever the hell you’re comfortable playing as. here, you’re judged just for playing a ████████ Night Elf, let alone Tauren.

You are completely missing his point.
He’s saying that they are quietly trying to sweep it under the rug so that people forget that ever happened.
He never said that they didn’t do anything about Afrasiabi and what he did.
Blizz wants you to forget that the stuff happened at all, and to facilitate this, they’re going to remove all the evidence. But… that’s… not healthy. It needs to stay there to remind people that stuff like that should not happen. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

I mean who forgot what happens in Blizzard? I certainly don’t.
Would that mean that Valeria Sanguinar would be censored too, especially from art work she dresses like a stripper?
You’d be surprised how quickly the common populace would forget about stuff like this.
You might not, because you seem to have some kind of vested personal interest in this kind of thing, but the common folk aren’t like that. They just wanna play WoW.

today its Afrasiabi…tomorrow its someone else who’s name never offended a single person in WoW’s 16 year history…until now.
1000% this. if we refuse to acknowledge the mistakes we made, we’re dooming ourselves to make them time and time again. by denying it ever happened, Blizzard is deliberately spitting in the faces of those who were wronged.
honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if she was removed entirely, and Blizz acts like she “doesn’t exist in the lore whatsoever”…despite her appearing time and time again in God only knows how many novels.
she’s featured in the Alliance BfA questline as well, so they’ll have to scrap that entirely. or…they COULD do what China did with Winnie the Pooh, and just put a white block covering her up entirely. but no, people will kick and scream and demand she’s removed…then kick and scream even louder, because they found someone else who offends them ten fold, and blast Blizzard for “not caring about them”.

You don’t need to play PTR or dungeons before to read the adventure guide. The relevant things you need to know are usually broken down into 2 sentences. I personally don’t really run dungeons much or raids (because I find them boring), so I can somewhat understand why people are annoyed by players who are totally ignorant of what’s going on, precisely because they don’t use the tools the game gives them to make them better players. People have all these crazy add ons to tell them how to play and I’ve never quite understood why.
