Why is endgame so convoluted?

It’s been one of the worst things about the game for me, and one of the reasons I still just level alts over and over. Getting to max level feels good for about a minute until I start earning gear tokens, a seperate currency to upgrade my gear, three other currencies to upgrade my gear, and have to worry about reputation. Mind you-- reputation gear is useless because you outlevel it really quickly, so even if you grind rep, it will feel useless aside from the nice mogs.

And so, I focus on PvP and get some Honor and Conquest gear, but there’s also Bloody Tokens from World PvP quests, which you don’t even have to PvP for, so I grind all of that for simplicity, but it feels like I should be doing Delves, weeklies, and dungeons instead. Don’t miss out on this week’s bonus! It gives you 5% more Honored Timekeep Crystals, which you can use to upgrade one piece of gear from 445 to 448 but only if you’ve done enough content to get the Honorable Upgrade Orbs, you need 100 per upgrade.

Sorry I’m really ranting here, but the complexity really IS NOT fun for me, and I love complexity when it’s done right.

The MAIN problem is how short seasons are, how fleeting all this content is, how it’s all kind of based on FOMO and you can only “be the very best!” for a few weeks before it’s all reset… So why am I genuinely wasting so much time learning just the NAMES of each currency and reputation, when they’re resetting ilvl and content soon?
