Well, you’re wrong. Two reasons. Spells already in the air hit even after turtle is used and there is an animation time. Turtle isn’t instant. I have been hit by two spells after using turtle because one was in the air and one hit just after turtle was cast. Given how fast convoke works, taking hits after turtle is up is pretty normal. This is even more exaggerated with spells like Chaos Bolt or Greater Pyro.
No decent player? Some of the best already died to it. Even the best setup can’t take into account the RNG. If the first or second ability cast is a full moon, no amount of preparedness matters. That’s why the full moon portion is what was nerfed.

More people survived convoke than died to it in AWC. In fact, the one that i remember dying didnt die to convoke, but the starsurges after because he ran back into solar beam and silenced himself. All while having bubble and not using it.

Were you replying to me or Super because I was the one saying moonkins are not OP and convoke is fine.
And then died to combust.
He died from sac. The convoke hit the monk with sac up. The monk also used dampen harm and Cdew used wings.
The issue is RNG. Combust on the pali without bubble is going to be a kill, so they have to run the risk. If the Convoke damage is low, they might survive without. Given that the monk used fort brew, they might have in that instant thought it was enough.
Convoke only beats out venthyr at any serious level.
Bastion is generally understood to be the best. But you don’t see people whining about it as much, because it’s less useful at low levels.
Against people who are not very good, convoke is very much an iwin button. Past 1400/1600, you start running into people who know to save their tools to deal with a moonkin.
Maybe I am missing something but in all that didn’t you just claim that you don’t want to see people having to switch covenants? And even then, suggest a specific covenant they could switch to.
Seems to me you either aren’t being genuine or don’t know what you want.
Plus this thread is a month old now and the world hasn’t ended.
PvPers always fine something to complain about. Always someone is too OP, always someone should be nerfed. Never accounting for classes handle things differently.
Amazingly, I’m not even the one bumping it. But it’s all a moot point now. It’s being nerfed and a number of people suggested removing Full Moon from the cast… which is exactly what they did.
It’s outlier abilities. If you can’t seem to grasp that getting hit for your full health before you can actually react is a bad thing, why are you posting here? It’s seriously unreasonable how much trolling has been happening in this thread considering the potential Convoke has with Full Moon procs. NO spec should have the ability to do enough damage to any player that they can die in less then .5s. The crazy thing is, we are actually talking .25s from the first hit.
Anywho, the changes have been made and this will help some. It will still be very good and there will likely be some complaints, but I’m happy with this.
This mongo idiot doesn’t realize Convoke is used by all druid specs and the class is solidly represented above 2400. What makes the top 100 isn’t a litmus for overall balance because obviously the most represented specs (hpal/fmage) will dominate that chart.
PS convoke got nerfed
just trinket and stun them, easy lol
git gud
Ludicrous. Every class is more or less on the “Legion” template design. Every class received an overhaul for that xpac, and Boomies have had a near identical toolkit since then, much like everyone else… and they have been good WITHOUT convoke. You act like this is something you’ve always had.
Source?.. Well, let’s look at the 2018 Blizzcon winners. Samiyam/Method Orange face-rolled with boomie, went undefeated, and 4-0’d the finals. He 2-tapped everyone with starsurge.
You don’t need to kill people with ONE global in order to be viable. Stop endorsing bad design.
