They did change course on HK, or said they got that wrong at least. Otherwise, the answer is that they stood to lose a lot of money upsetting china and they don’t really stand to lose much money or many customers by supporting BLM.

Because they are a corporation and their #1 goal is to make money.
The BLM movement is more a trend now and corporations love using trends to sell their products. If they have to suppress speech to sell products in china they will do that too.
It’s just the capitalist machine at work and its beautiful.

I don’t have a problem with them supporting BLM on air, it’s their choice. I do have a problem that they started mass deleting any and all comments from people who were upset with it though.
That’s also their choice of course, but silencing instead of having a conversation is absolutely wrong. Period.
Especially after Technically PvP Podcast, a moderator for WoW’s channel, countered the criticism with “If you don’t understand, you’re part of the problem.” Well make them understand if you believe in your convictions. If not then you don’t really want change.

It’s sort of like John Boyega saying that he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to find work after supporting BLM. Pure Virtue signalling and fake activism so an echochamber can pat themselves on the back and feel good about being the 1% they’re constantly bashing. It’s ok to sin if you flagellate yourself after.

Because Hong Kong is bad and BLM is good. Hong Kong rioters set people on fire they disagree with. That’s why.
I guess my biggest thing is like, they say they are support BLM; but its 2020 and I still can’t create a black character for myself to play. I know they are working to fix that in Shadowlands…but its 2020 lol.
It’s just fluff.
Just look past it. These companies all do the same thing. It’s a safe thing to throw generic words at.

It is kind of funny, people with privilege acting like they are part of it. I don’t picture “the man” coming down on John Boyega. 
Of course, I’m 53 and white. Then again, I’ve never thought of the police as “my pals.” I guess I’ve been very careful, very polite, doing exactly what they said and keeping my hands in their plain view, for no reason at all?
I’m really more surprised that BLM was “now”, I guess because the instigation was caught on video. I mean, I would have thought it would have been when the white female police officer killed the African/Dominican guy in his OWN APARTMENT (Botham), on the floor above her, on a different level of the parking garage, with a bright red doormat in front of his door, saying she thought it was her apartment, then getting only 10 years and fired (so she’ll probably be out in less than six.) The prosecutor underscored the part about the different floor, obvious things like the red doormat in front of the door, etc.
I was actually curious about that one, sure that it would come out they had an affair or something and she was jilted; the thing made no sense.

They say whatever they think is popular and will get people to buy or keep buying their products.
I’m sure there are people in Blizzard that actually care but the company itself has no moral compass except to do what is profitable even if it is hypocritical.

If you actually want change out of a company stop buying their products and tell them why in an email or forum posts. You aren’t truly being critical of a company if you won’t stop buying their products.
If they are doing something you don’t like and you still buy from them then you are enabling said behavior.
