Why is Blizzard continuing free transfers?

Faction imbalance doesn’t matter.

Why?

Across the game the ratio of H:A is about even. BGs are the ONLY thing that matters for faction imbalance. Since BGs are linked, server pop balance really isn’t an issue.

If you’re on a low pop your faction server it hurts you, but it’s a choice other players made.

“Faction Imbalance” has not been addressed by Blizzard in any way. The purpose of free transfers is to improve the “server overflow / queue” problem.

If some PLAYERS have chosen to take advantage of that, and those PLAYER decisions have hurt YOUR faction imbalance, that is unfortunate. But those PLAYERS probably did that on purpose, so it helped all those players, even though it hurt you in your view.

I guess it balances out, since I like those players as much as I like you.

You can blame anyone you like. But Blizzard will continue to “fix the queue problem” and Blizzard will continue to “support player free choice”, regardless of your feelings about it.

That is if Blizz roll out BGS cross servers. What if BG get rolled out first per server que only.

balanced factions.

then give us server xfers already.

balanced factions, 110%

because (as has been stated many many times) , transfers are not to solve faction imbalance, they are to solve queue issues. Faction imbalance is caused by players wanting to be part of the dominate faction.

There are no queues issues at the moment. So why open transfers? No one in here has made the claim that transfers are meant to solve faction imbalance, not sure where you picked that up from. It does the OPPOSITE, that’s my whole point.

Yes they want to have smaller servers so they can eliminate phasing. What I’m saying is that by doing so, they are creating a larger gap between Horde and Alliance on pvp servers, which I think is a bigger issue than phasing.

In the case of gross imbalances, you already have that. The smaller population is going to die and either reroll or quit in time anyway. No point in dragging it out.

They’ve already confirmed they are being rolled out cross server.

That is good news.

Not enough people to gank in open world all the sudden? Seems about the only reason to care about faction balance.

You can’t group with them, you cant talk to them, you cant trade with them. The only thing you can really do is PVP with them. And if they left in droves its pretty much your fault for watching them go and not doing the same.

What a nonsensical last sentence you wrote. Holy hell.

Yes, because balance is more important on a PvP server. If I play on a PvP server, I want to play so I can do PvP, not so I can get clapped by a 2:1 or worse ratio

Faction imbalance has ALWAYS been a problem in WoW and it’s never going to change.

I’m on Atiesh, West Coast PvE server and they opened free xfers to two different realms for us. I doubt it was because of faction imbalance in WPvP. After investing a month into this toon on Atiesh and forming a guild, making friends outside of guild, getting instant invites to heal any dungeon I feel like doing and seeing a great economy I have no reason to xfer.

Cause people are crying ofc.

Free xfers are a quick fix that only cause more problems.
We needed new realms with no xfer. Re-roll or wait in ques

instead of complaining about what blizzard is doing… you could always do something yourself…

co-ordinate with other like minded individuals to fix your server… make some alts on the realms that can transfer to yours and try and recruit people to your server to fix the faction balance.

post on realm forums… maybe appeal to some of the more PvP minded players and sell the point of having so many targets…get creative. Maybe appeal to one of the streamers to put the word out…

or just wait…as blizzard will end up doing paid transfers, My thoughts are that it will be when BG’s come out in phase 3, as that is when population will effect things more like que’s etc…

I can’t believe people are defending Blizzard on this. This is not 2004 anymore. I’m paying 15$ a month to play a 15 years old game, I expect them to do something about faction imbalance. Even more so when their directed free transfers have accentuated the problem and can destroy any new realm you reroll to.
