Why I Will Play as Horde

I will be playing as horde for the following reasons;

  1. Unique looking races. Each horde race has its own unique look, whereas Alliance has elves, and 3 different types of humans

  2. Gear looks better on horde races

  3. Difference in gameplay. Paladins undoubtedly make Alliance endgame easier, which I find quite lame. I like the Horde endgame playstyle because of shaman totems being dropped, as well as chain heals, both of which add a very aesthetically pleasing raid environment to look at

  4. Most raids being quite far away from Horde cities, making the journey there more fun.

There are many good reasons to play horde.

I personally always thought orcs were the coolest and most fun race in Warcraft 3. And they also included trolls and tauren. Tauren in Warcraft 3 were my favorite orc unit. I also thought druids of the claw, a night elf unit, were really awesome because they were beefy and could heal themselves.

And in WoW I can combine those into a tauren druid. So it’s a tauren druid for me.

I will be playing alliance because:

  1. The original night elves were hawt. Do not care for the upgraded models, they became robotic.
  2. I really dig on the Nelf hunter vibe from vanilla. The connection with the pet felt legit back then.
  3. Ironforge as my home base. Hell to the yes. Best city ever.
  4. Horde side when I played vanilla was 2edgy4me.
  5. Shorter BG ques alliance side (even tho we got stomped most of the time).
  6. Nostalgia.

Main reason I would want to go horde is to not suck the fat one when it comes to pvp. Main reason to go alliance would be for nostalgia.

Heroism was a big advantage in certain fights, no?

If you’re talking about the heroism I am thinking of, this is not in vanilla. Also, for horde it’s bloodlust.

I would love to roll horde simply because I think undead has the most amazing looks and casting animations… But man… I can’t give up ironforge, sw, ally leveling zones, the aesthetics of the pvp gear, it just feels more epic. Like I truly am just a little warrior fighting for a massive kingdom. The horde just makes me feel like there is no kingdom and you are sort of a rat, unless you’re a tauren then it feels like you shouldn’t even be apart of the horde.

I will play horde because…
That’s what my wife wants to roll, because that’s what we were in Vanilla, because her EQ friends did that in Vanilla, because they were apping to Fires of Heaven.

We joined FoH’s rival guild and drove them to ragequit the server.

Shoot, I thought for sure they had it in Vanilla! Guess it was in BC! Oh, and I generically call everything heroism that has that effect! Just a bad habit of mine!

I can agree with all of this. I think my first alt will be an undead warlock for the reasons you just described. The horde are dominated by the orcs (like the alliance are dominated by humans, boo…) and I will play my little undead dude as if he’s just loosely affiliated with those savages. They all hate undead anyways, so…

I will admit Undead have the best casting animation, Orc’s look freaking cool, Taurens are as well. Trolls not so much.

But, I don’t want to spend 30 mins in queue for a bg and I have always liked to be on the underdog side… which as always been alliance.

For that reason I will be a gnome mage called… MAGICGNOME and I will have /lol macro’d. Just saying… =)

PS. That was the name of my vanilla gnome mage… way before magicmike. =)

I’m playing Alliance because…

  1. Gnomes are the best race, followed closely by gnomes.
  2. The cities and themes are more calming/relaxing to me.
  3. Ironforge is the greatest city every built
  4. I like paladins more than I like shamans.

I play horde, because of bad experiences with alliance players.

Horde, I have played as alliance far too long, and I feel horde have a better vibe to them.

I feel shaman are cooler than paladins, mostly because you are either swimming against the tide, or have to be holy at the end. And a plate healer never made sense to me.

I will miss alliance cities, which I do prefer.

Alliance has always been outnumbered by the horde.

I am going to play Horde, because those are my Vanilla roots. Love the Orcs. Love the Forsaken. So, the main will be a Forsaken Warlock.

That spell was introduced in Burning Crusade. It wasn’t in vanilla.
