Why High Elves Don't Work: A Primer

Yeah it really doesn’t matter much to me, but I understand the frustration of Blood Elves and High Elf supporters. I just find the conversation entertaining and I see alot of hypocrisy on high elf side. But it’s good you’re consistent, I can respect that.

Sure, you’re probably right.
But I have my doubts that the helfer fans would ever give up!
Reminds me of Lambchop’s song. :sheep:

Exactly. I thought void elves were a terrible enough decision as is, considering how it’s an exact copy paste with different skin color and hair…

If high elves don’t work…

What about low elves?

Plays limbo dance music.

Don’t get me started on how much I hate that they gave the Alliance Blood Elves.

AR’s as a whole were low effort.

Yes but at least they’re still faction bound to the low effort race they were tied to, except void elves.

Which is why I think they were a huge mistake. They should have made them more varied and different like they did for nightborn.

I agree with you.

As much as i frick’n love high elves, and blood elves; and all elves pretty much… i personally will not hold my breath in seeing High Elves as a playable race.

Still, would be nice.

Stay back she has Yellow eyes!

I just got these yellow eyes!

The latest Steve Danuser interview just went up today on MMO champ and at the bottom of the list are a couple things that pertain to this:

  • There was nothing in the new customization options that went against the story or narrative. These customization options were more about giving the players many ways to express their character.

  • Adding customization options like Wildhammer tattoos is there to be able to differentiate your character’s place in the world. You don’t necessarily need to have a unique starting zone for each different clan, and no matter what the quest text says, if you want to roleplay your character as a specific subrace, then that’s what it is!

These feel like strong signals to prep the helfer community to get used to blue eyed belves. Well made points, I think.

(I haven’t been lurking as much as before but hope everyone is well and staying safe <3)

I had not thought of that. I didn’t hear the question so wasn’t sure but I thought it might have been about the elves getting dark skin options.

I didn’t listen to the interview itself yet, but just saw the summary. It looks like it was in the last part of the interview along with other misc things like about the giant sword and if Azeroth herself would wake up at some point.

Dif skin options for the elves too would be interesting though.

edited to say I finally saw the wowhead article from yesterday! Looks good
