Why High Elves Don't Work: A Primer

They can do it without it affecting gameplay. They gave nightborne different shades of purple/blue, altered the model and stance, and gave them a killer story.

They could do the same to give us high elves, rather than blood elves that were dyed blue and had no thought put into their story.

Except nightborne are a different race from night elves avarie. So its not a comparable.

We will have to agree to disagree then.

That is fine. I don’t have qualms with anyone simply because I disagree with them.
Anyway, going to bed, its been a very long day.

Good night, hopefully tomorrow is better for you.

Maybe…maybe not.

If my blood elves could quit the horde I might play them more.

What if you had the option of using Silvermoon for all your capitol city needs instead of Orgrimar?

… and if we are comparing them, they are much more different from Night Elves than Blood Elves are from Alliance high elves. They are similar, too similar if you ask me, but plenty different. Alliance high elves just color things blue instead of red or green. Further I don’t think Alliance high elves exist in the way that the people who are pining for them want them.

It’s not Orgrimmar I have a problem with. It’s how long it took, and what it took, for the bulk of the horde to stop following Sylvanas.

That’s a major sticking point for me, and not even just for my blood elf characters. Even my psychotic troll wouldn’t follow orders from Sylvanas and Nathanos…though that’s because she hates elves and humans, even the undead variety.

Oh, that’s a whole other issue. I ditched the Horde right along with you.

… though my toons don’t have stories like how yours do.

Nearly all of my characters have stories, if they don’t I have a hard time leveling them. I don’t even really rp anymore. Mostly I spy on other people. I still need a story though.

It’s unrealistic to expect blizz to provide a race that would be redundant for the alliance to satisfy role players.

They don’t do anything to satisfy role players.

Well there you go.

It’s not just role players who want them though.

They are the only ones I see, but that’s just me.

Like I said, I don’t even really rp anymore these days. My anxiety is far too high for that sort of thing. I enjoy the story of high elves, and the potential for blizzard to add to that, as well as their general aesthetic.

Even people who have never rped a day in their lives could like specific races for the story, or the look, or dislike other races for similar reasons. I have no story ideas for void elves, so I don’t play them. Their story is also limited and poorly done overall. I feel the same about lightforged draenei. Void elves are shadow priests the race, and lfd are holy priests or holy pallies the race.

The only AR I want to play is Nightborne, but them following Sylvanas is a sticking point, especially since we spent legion doing wqs and getting our butts kicked when our illusions dropped to save their city but they had no issues burning down ours and continuing to follow the nutjob who ordered it.

I’m sorry that you have to deal with anxiety. :hugs:
My only point is that Blizz isnt’ going to make a race for a small portion of the playerbase, let alone they gave the alliance void elves in an effort to fulfill the helfer request.
