I would prefer a restructuring of the entire system at this point.
With the shadowlands customization being a thing remove a lot of allied races and create a subrace category after race selection before moving into character customization proper.
Things like the kul tiran model both big and skinny would be available regardless of what human nation you choose your character to come from.
Subraces would have specific customization and could even have different class selections. I don’t think they need new racial abilities at all though. Base race and subraces can share the racial abilities.
High elves would be added with both a void elf and half elf subrace option.
With the announced shadowlands changes all of this really should be done otherwise they are being extremely inconsistent.
We have done this in many occasions, and even that isnt good enough for people. I understand that their will always be opposition, but there are people that are simply here to say NO, never! That’s mainly what we have been dealing with here. Doesn’t matter the Lore, the looks, or the animations… it’s just a NO. That’s not having a conversation or working out how to solve their issues, that is cutting people off and telling them to stop the discussion entirely.
Also, the fact that people feel that Blood Elves come off as the villains is up to their own perspective. Certainly you can change a person’s point of view by swaying a story one way or another, but even then there will always be someone who feels like they’ve been labeled something they didn’t deserve to be. People do that now with the Horde and Alliance, and neither are the hero’s or villains. They both have blood on their hands and believe they’ve done right. Blood Elves have indeed Exiled the Quel’dorei and that makes them look bad, but on the other hand, they are protecting their people from those whom could harm them and alter once more their way of life. Or worse, come after the sunwell again. High Elves do seem like a good bunch because they didn’t mana tap and drain the life from creatures, but they also abandoned their people in their most needed time and never looked back.
High Elves and Blood Elves are not about whose good and whose evil. They just went on different opposing paths and that’s what makes them interesting. For people to view it good and evil, is shallowing the real stories being told.
I think the fact that text doesn’t really inflect what people are really expressing in their words is a big hinderence. I believe people automatically thing the worse when others are writing something, when infact they are just reciting a mindful thought. But I will say there are times when it is undoubtedly rude, and that’s something I don’t approve of on either side.
Yes, communication over text has its drawbacks, and this subject gets people heated. I think if we all worked at it we could come closer to some agreements.
Shadows of the sun shows high elves are affected by the sunwell as well.
So I am unsure what you were trying to.prove exactly given their biology is the same as blood elves.

I hope you get fully better soon! I don’t have a neti pot, and they scare me. I might get one though because I keep getting sinus stuff. I am afraid I’ll manage to drown myself though.

I agree that we all should cool down, but lately, and it is starting to now become a very occuring thing, especially also in the other thread, I am getting accused of attacking people, in this thread, I am getting judged by Murg with his comment of “just like every other pro thinking Anti’s are selfish jerks”…
Yeah, I’d love to cool down, but as I posted a few post earlier Avarie, I can be either a friendly person or a nasty b***h on the forums. In the end though, I rather all of us get along instead of judging each other and making statements of each other.
As one gif that Murg has posted, we’re not enemies, we all just disagree with each other. But if people are going to go down the path, accuse me of attacking people, and judge like that, then in the end, it is going to be the point where the community just devides more, and takes everyone as enemies.
Have you considered not jumping on people who are reacting to stuff being said to them by people you agree with?
Because we have had some people within the last couple days pushing the “people against the request are selfish people without a real argument” that people have reacted to, many times by pointing out how that’s wrong and how it goes both ways, only to have you pop in to explain to us how it’s wrong to say such things. And occasionally you jumping in to cheerlead the nasty statements made by those people.
I mean I admit I can get snarky and such, but I don’t think I’m in the wrong to be really annoyed when someone starts to lecture me on mutual respect when I change the nouns on someone’s aggressive statement of opinion to show how it goes both way, but not a word said to the person who said it in the first place. And then later echoing an attack they made.
