Don’t you mean, them stop from being Thalassian Elves?
its sorta like people born with deformities or genetic abnormalities. they aren’t suddenly not humans. they just have some unique expression of their dna. been saying the same thing about blood elves. they are high elves, that just prefer to not be called high elves.
Doesn’t change the fact they are High Elves.
Cool. So let me know when you roll a Blood Elf that you’re rolling the race as a whole. Not a group from Sunstrider Isle.
I’m not dancing this dance again Sara.
You don’t want factions to exist. I think they’re a fundamental component of the game. You think what races are on what faction don’t matter. I think the factions - collections of races being the delineation of them in this game - are identified by the races they are in. You think everyone should be able to play any race any time. I don’t. It’s just that simple.
I play one because I like the aesthetic, but Void Elves shouldn’t have happened. Nightborne are close enough to Night Elves that I don’t believe they should have happened. I think Pandarens (and the % of them played bears it out) were a mistake.
ARs should belong to the faction of their parent race.
These are my opinions, others have different opinions, no one’s changing my mind on this - the arguments have all been made, on both sides, and other than you I don’t see anyone flipping from publicly opposed as a consistent view to publicly supporting them. But factions don’t matter to you so it’s easy enough for you to go there.
They are still High Elves. Nothing you say changes this fact.
And I respect your opinion then Murg. But for me, Factions have been going in a completely different direction than how they were supposed to be. I’m not saying this has always been a thing, infact, it has been going in a completely different direction since the introduction of AR’s for those who pre-purchased BfA in Legion, and with how the story has ended up in BfA.
Now, I play both factions. I try to make the time I have to play with what ever friends I have left. But with how unfriendly this expansion has been towards alts, it has been pretty much a chore actually with keeping up with both sides.
To be honest I am not sure how I feel about factions at this point. The cinematics make it seem like they are all but done. I dunno…but I do agree it has been a core tenet of WoW gameplay.
Awesome more "no you"ing.
Here again, you choose to disregard the high elves by throwing in “moving blood elves to the alliance”.
You refer to absurdities and hyperbole, this has absolutely zilch to do with the current high elves (or non-blood elf high elves).
You’re correct, it has no effect on me.
But I choose not to be selfish and spiteful towards those who wish to have this appearance, as it makes sense in game even according to your standards.
You could say this about any race in the game, I mean why do we have playable races anyways?
Be careful.
No one is asking for this, the high elves are already alliance.
You’re either just playing dumb here or misinformed.
Great so you agree with me then as the high elves are already alliance.
Why are you being willfully ignorant then basically trashing your own main argument?
This is your opinion and that’s okay.
A cosmetic appearance that makes sense (as high elves are alliance) is not something that would affect gameplay however.
That’s literally and virtually impossible excluding racials.
I’m sorry you feel that way. I guess you could say I’m being intolerant towards intolerance?
It is absurd that, knowing all the circumstances surrounding high elves, you would rather see them as alliance npcs than have people who wish to play them well… play them.
Say that to the ones who incessantly repeat that they don’t want blood elves being shipped to the alliance, which literally has nothing to do with this topic.
“We must put this misery behind us. We must enter a new chapter! And so I say to you that, as of this day, we are no longer high elves! In honor of the blood that was shed throughout this kingdom, in honor of the sacrifices of our brothers and sisters, our parents, and our children, in honor of Anasterian… as of this day we will take the name of our royal lineage! As of this day, we are sin’dorei! For Quel’Thalas!”
— Kael’thas Sunstrider proclaims the rise of the blood elves
What? Implementing playable High Elves is directly copying Blood Elves and giving them Blue outfits. They are the same race.
So…the void elves do not have tentacles, a lack of connection to the sunwell, bleed purple, and have been altered by the void?
Did you even do the unlocking scenario?
Thalassians have a connection to the sunwell.
Void elves do not.
Ergo. Not thalassians.
He can say that all he wants, Belfs are high elves. You DO NOT just get to change your race/heritage.
Provide your citation accordingly. Otherwise you’re just screaming “you’re wrong” with no backng.
No, because they’re already alliance, there’s no copying involved.
If they weren’t already alliance, yes it would be copying and I would be definitely be on board with you.
Hardly, I am pointing out that while you decry others for one thing, you then do the same. Is that not hypocrisy?
high elves and blood elves are the same race by design. It i this basic aspect that needs to be considered above your lore. Lore is merely the passenger when the true vehicle is the game and gameplay itself.
It is selfish and spiteful to demand what others have while telling others to give what they feel is “theirs”. Otherwise, by your logic, anything anyone wants should be supported. Which in itself is wrong.
Blood elves and high elves are the same race.
Blood elves are playable on th Horde. Ergo. you’re requesting a horde race.
Let alone lore wise, high elves are varied in allegience so meh.
That’s a strawman and can be ignored.
You exist in an alternative reality I suppose.
Sara wanted to give you 1000 likes. So here’s one more to bring you closer to that.
So, it is selfish to request for something that is already within the Alliance to become playable, but yet, it is not selfish to tell everyone stop asking for them?
0/10
I did, and I’ve also seen it a few times. They can still be thalassians and have all those things. And they still are thalassians, according to Ion.
This… isn’t what makes a thalassian elf a thalassian elf. Inb4 they all temporarily became a new race when they destroyed it back in Warcraft.
I don’t really know what you’re expecting me to cite, but you can literally just google their lore. I can’t link anything.
Youtube ‘Ion & Jess talking High Elves Blizzocon 2017’, since I can’t link anything. Ion says that Void Elves are High Elves too. They’re all thalassians. They’re all the same race.
They are Alliance NPCs. They are not playable. This is in fact what the whole debate is about. Playable races - not NPCs. Playable races and the impact making this one playable would have.
You and others are of the opinion that there is no impact. Myself and others are of the opinion they do. Neither side is going to move people who have an opposing viewpoint.
