Why High Elves Don't Work: A Primer (Part 1)

Everyone was a prick to feral druids back then.

I was going to say “we don’t wear dresses”, but I am on the wrong toon.

You know all of this High Elf Design from Warcraft 3 not only makes me wish for High Elves on the Alliance still like the Quel’dorei but atleast in some way maybe Customization Options for the Blood Elves.

Why High Elf Customization Options on Blood Elves? Are you high or Anti again Bryian? I mean when it comes to Silvermoon Ones like Regular High Elf Villagers, High Elf Archmage, Kael’s Father and etc. I mean basically why not more Hair options, Beard Options and etc? Now in terms of the Blue Eyes. My Guess would be is basically Magic Mana Crystals or something from Dalaran giving the fact that the antis have pointed out some High Elf Npcs who were not really Pro Silver Covenant, Highvale, and even the Outlands Alliance Ones. I mean atleast in terms of Silvermoon High Elves from Warcraft 3. I can get that since after playing the campaign. I wouldn’t mind seeing Blue Eye Elves who were from Warcraft 3.

Now of course I’m not going to abandon the idea of Void Elves not being High Elves or like Alleria since I myself would love to have the Two Form Option with Tattoos while as a Void Elf Hunter. But since I have created a Blood Elf Mage I would love some Beard Options for the Males. I mean its kind of option to see the Alliance have Elven Males who are Blueberries with Full Beards while Horde Ones only have none or just Goat Hair on their chin. So something like Lor’themar’s or that Kelen the Seeker would be nice for Beard Options.

It’s in the lore now, Alleria is a Void Elf.
“The Dark Lady and her forces now work in the shadows as both the Horde and Alliance race to uncover her next move, including her own sister, Alleria. Struggling to shoulder the crushing weight of leadership, King Anduin entrusts the void elf and High Exarch Turalyon to uncover Sylvanas’s whereabouts.”

There was a question as to what she was?

She’s a different kind than the others but only in that they took different paths to get there… (alleria trained in it over years and willingly absorbed a darkened naaru core to suffused herself with void, while the rest were forced via that ethereals ritual trap) but like… They’ve said several times both are void elves.

I guess you’ve missed the many claims that Alleria is not a void elf by the helfers.

I did. And I’m happy I did. That’s wrong. Bad high elf supporters.

Unlike the Void Elves who are Umbric’s Group. Alleria who absorbed the Naaru Core on Argus not only keeps her Tattoos but also changes from High Elf Form to Void Elf.

So pretty much in terms of talking about the idea of High Elf Features like Alleria. Why not have the same scenario to the rest of the Void Elves go down the same path as what Alleria did and have the High Elves of Silver Covenant go through that was well. There you go. High Elves but Voidly.

I have Ideas for Both Void and Blood Elves to have High Elf Customization Options. With both having Quel’dorei Features. That Side can finally be Warcraft 2 High Elves on the Alliance while the Horde remains their Silvermoon High Elf Counterpart from Warcraft 3 but with Blue Eyes, Beards, and etc.

I mean I know that the Quel’dorei in General wouldn’t be fully playable due to many rejections unless Half Elves may say otherwise. But other than that I wouldn’t mind seeing Both have High Elf Features.

I have suggested this multiple times. The High Elves of the Alliance join up together called by Alleria, Vereesa, and Umbric to form a unified front. Then they all agree to become Void Elves. Since theres no ritual thingie they learn the way Alleria did. No more Alliance High Elves, only Void.

Blood and Void. The Legacy of the Quel’Dorei.

its not happening. void elves arent going to share skin tones with blood elves(high elves). all 4 elf variants have their own unique flavors. theres as much chance for void elves getting de voided as nightborne turning back into normal night elves. its time to face reality :muscle:

I agree that Blizz isn’t going to likely do that for Void Elves. Getting the High Elves serving within or allied to the Alliance to join up with the Void Elves maybe, but giving us their skin-tones is unlikely.

They may give us lighter blue purple pinkish (not human pink, pink pink) but they’re not like to give us something that clearly resembles a Blood Elf.

I also hope they give us some more hairstyles, colors, and tattoos. All things I am sure Blood Elves will get with SLs.

so let me see if I have this right. You want to corrupt a bunch of Noble Naaru just so the Silver Covenant cant suck out their cores, and become like Alleria. First i don’t think Naaru are that weak, nor do i think the Silver Covenant members are that strong. But heck I’m game for it, don’t think the Alliance will be all that welcoming of them especially Velan, and the Draenei. However I hear Illidan is okay with the destruction of Naaru.

The Void Elves have access to the remnants of a Void Infested world. I’m sure they can find a suitable replacement for Darkened Naaru.

As far as if the SC or the other Alliance aligned High Elves are strong enough… well…

Leave the weak behind.

even if they could replicate it with some weaker void beings, or some other way. I don’t see them giving the Ren’dorei the Alleria treatment. Blizzard seems to like keeping the leaders looking different from the rabble. I don’t mind being blue but i think the tattoos would be nice.

Of course. I think I responded to Awz a second ago on that.

I do not beleive they will give us the Blood Elf humanish skin tones or anything like that. Just lighter blues and purples and pinks (Pink pink not human pink) Perhaps their less than Darkened Naaru void creatures to make the High Elves into Void Elves turns them bluer unlike Alleria.

I also really would hope they’d give them the Tattoo’s at some point. Especially if the SC joins them since they are designed off the Farstrider organization, its likely they have tattoos.

And also new hairtyles and such… purple eyes was noted in another thread I saw today. Like Void purple. That’d be cool.

My idea is to end the discussion. Since we have Void Elves its not likely that Blizzard is going to give us another High Elf based model. So if there are no more High Elves because they all Choose to become Void Elves then the discussion is over. As it should have been when blizzard made the Void Elves… All they had to do was have them come from the Alliance High Elves rather than blood elves…

I think the skin tones that the light forged draenei have would look good on Void Elves, but I’m probably the only one.

As for the tattoos i don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t have them.

I like the idea of having all the High Elves getting together and having them attacked, and most of them forcefully changed. I don’t see all of them changing willingly, but against their will is a different story.

as for why they made the Void elves out of Blood Elves, instead of High Elves. My theory is… Because they weren’t looking to make High Elves playable, they were just looking to get the Thalassian model on the Alliance side. To them Blood Elves seemed to be more the reckless sort that would mess around with the Void.

That… thats actually not a bad idea. I like that.

Yeah I can’t think of a good reason they wouldn’t have them.

This was my first version of this, but there was some hostility towards me on it. I actually feel you’re right that it would be more likely this way.

Alleria, Vereesa, and Umbric gather them all together to form into a single faction of elves on the Alliance side, and get attacked for a second time by Durzahananna or whatever that Ethereal’s name was. Alleria, Umbric and the champion along with the rest of the Void Elves fight them off but they manage to do the ritual attack again.

Afterward despite being soemthing most of them would hate the other High Elves, now voided too, realise that the Void Elves saved them and vow to learn to control the whispers and their new powers. Boom everyones a Void Elf.

I think this is so. Still they should have thought about the ramifications on the rather vocal High Elf fans in their communities.

With a bunch of the things they have been doing lately I’ve got to wonder if they think at all. I believe a lot of the problems could be solved if Blizzard talked with it Player-base, and answered their questions. Like when asked if the Void Elves were going to have High Elf option when the first introduced them. They should have said No, if they had no intentions of giving them to them. They also should of been clear where they were coming from. Blizzard most likely knew right from the start they were going to be using Blood Elves. Why lead the High Elf crowd on by letting them think for months that they might finally get to play the race they have been wanting to plays for more then a decade.
