iam not sure how they plan to make changes to heroic dungeons in phase 3, but one things for sure, if they try the same Heroic + approach like they did in Wotlk, it will put alot of people off, because i left when they added those stupid changes.
And if they spoil TBC heroics with that affix filth, I’m once again out.
I’m fine with things hitting 25% harder with 50% more health for raid gear from phase 1/2.
But i would not be fine with them adding some stupid affixes that completely broke the dungeon’s in Wotlk.
i did not enjoy the Nerub ones especially, if anyone remembers you would randomly get enveloped in a web and had to be broken out of it, was super annoying and broken.
Another was the blood of loa affix for the troll dungeons, was super broken.
Made mobs heal to full heath if they stood in it for 1 second and was the same color/affect as the DK death and decay.
Those dodge this mechanics, and swirlys on the ground, dodge them while you jump to remove this debuff mechanic is just retail crap.
I honestly thought it was poor game design, please don’t ruin heroics
The entire system was bad.
It added unneeded catch-up systems that invalided the already set systems we had during its original version.
Example, wotlk.
You did ToC5 for its many items to supplement you for ToC25, plus you had onyxia for 232/245 weapons if you didn’t get any in Ulduar.
If you joined at ICC, you had the 3 ICC dungeons giving 226/232 gear, plus Onyxis, plus triumph badges for 232 tier and daily frost for t10. You could go from fresh to ICC in two weeks.
Adding previous raid gear to a vender made doing previous content pointless and just helped the retail mindset players play. The retail mindset is play a tier for a month or less, then quit, return for new content.
I don’t know how many people your specific preference represents, but it does seem that there are precisely zero changes they can make without putting anybody off.
i would say quite a few people that are playing classic not some TBC remix event.
that’s because nothing authentic anymore,
contents too hard? nerf it!
contents not alt friendly, make it alt friendly
leveling’s boring? add paid level boost
want a cool mount for $$ buy the deluxe edition
want free raid gear without having to do the raid itself? add Heroic + dungeons
can see why people get put off, i just want authenticity.
