Why Harpies Should Be Playable

It’s either borderline evil savages or they want stuff with like 8 arms or bugs (Nerubians) or quadrupeds.

Lets just have playable creatures and everyone can run around as a random monster. That seems really Warcraft-ish, yes indeed.

You can link youtubs if you’re really fast!

Not everybody wants to play a human with slightly different fantasy features.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to explore a bit of the infinite possibilities of fantasy roleplay

You know exactly why, Mortis! I’m a Warlock! It’s what we do!

Oh I know, but lets keep it grounded.

I want playable Kyrian, I realize they are big blue humans, BUT they’ve been in the game since vanilla WoW as Spirit Healers and Valkyries. They look really good and their story was the only thing I remember from Doodoolands.
They “make sense”. They aren’t savages, they don’t talk like babies or monsters, they haven’t spanned across worlds destroying everything, etc, etc.

More importantly, you can rig the armor to them. They make sense technically. They would have tmog. They can’t even add a super dragon hero race that has tmog, what makes you think Murloc (or whatever race you would juxtapose with my Kyrian reasoning) would have tmog? This company won’t even expand on the tmog already there, let alone develop something new.

Why are you hating on the Orcs like this? Without them, this whole franchise would never have existed

I anticipated someone juxtaposing that point with Orcs. Just watch the Warcraft movie and you will see why Orcs can be a civilized race, the entire movie is about that basically or leading up to it at least.

Any Race can be civilized.

You have to understand that the guys we fight are usually the worst of the worst of the bunch. Just look at the difference between the Zandalari trolls of Isle of Thunder when they were villains and the Zandalari in Zandalar, where they were heroes. One has significantly more animal cruelty than the other.

I was just tired and well, to be fair – This is the forums.
You can’t blame me too much for shortly-thinking it might’ve been something a little bit more degenerate. :joy:

Perhaps we could come to a compromise and get Arakkoa? :yum:

:bird: :baby_chick:

If they can be death knights sure

What kind of game is this?!

Snails should be playable.

To catch them, I’d imagine the game is much like WoW - You enter a dungeon, although it’s not quite the same kind of dungeon … :eyes:

i feel like there is more to this story.

I’d imagine Harpies wouldn’t exactly have a great relationship with either the Horde or the Alliance since we consistently got quests to annihilate them all over Azeroth.

  • Durotar
  • Mulgore
  • Highmountain
  • Teldrassil (Well, the Horde finished what little of them would’ve remained anyway lol)
  • Northern Barrens (Yeesh, they got a REALLY bad rep with the Horde - eh?)
  • Hyjal
  • Stonetalon Mountains (Volcano eruption was rumoured to have finished them off)
  • Feralas
  • Thousand Needles
  • Dragonblight

Etc … They’re typically an enemy of other humanoid forces and in many instances a menace to much of bird-kind, to which ironically despite their similarities, I’d imagine the Arakkoa and the Harpies would NOT get along for that reason :face_with_spiral_eyes: lol

— At the very least I would say the Alliance could probably scrape by an easier relationship with them than the Horde could (given their history) – but ultimately yeah … Harpies aren’t looking too great on the scoreboard (Except the Death-toll, perhaps). :grimacing:

They’re the spirits of dead beings… they can’t just cross into the world of the living. We only see the Kyrian on Azeroth when we die; and we only got Ysera back by having a soul of equal value to Ardenweald (Malfurian) stay in her stead, and she still went back to being dead.

Also, just because a race is savage doesn’t mean they can never be civilized. Hozen I wouldn’t quite call savage, but they’re not entirely civilized either, they seem like they’re in a bit of a limbo in between.

Finally someone else fighting for our rights to be birds we’re ment to be! :bird: Harpy pally with extra gold wings could be fun.

Was this bird raised by cats?

Probably not, because cats eat birbs, but that birb sure does seem to have the spirit of a cat lol

Night Elves are playable, and they are basically like shrieking harpies all day, crying about something.

Or we could make the Male Harpies have a new model, and call them : Harpos. And they could look like Harpo Marx
