Who thought this was a good idea? Such a strange ‘fix’. You guys literally might as well just leave it as was. I’m flabbergasted.
YES. Please.
Drums go brrrrr
No, and your constant deflection isn’t going to change that. But WBs aren’t required to clear content, but are still expected. So will drums be.
People who want to min/max don’t always like every aspect of said min/maxing, and that includes a maintenance buff that isn’t fun or engaging in any way.
You are right I forgot about the leg enchants.
This does not really address the issue that makes drums “mandatory” (chaining drums) while simply adding a layer of annoyance to actually using them, although frankly not enough annoyance for raid groups to not mandate them.
Add the 10 minute debuff.
If you can’t come up with a real solution then just delete them
No, Drums aren’t required or necessary to clear the content.
If you think it does, then you don’t know about the game you want to play
That’s the point.
Regardless of if they’re needed to clear the content, they’ll be required to even be invited try.
Dumb take. Of course drums aren’t comparable to WB’s in terms of raw power.
However, they are comparable in that it’ll be the new meta, whereas WB’s were the old meta. Of course, there’s always going to be a meta, but everyone going LW’ing for drums is a particularly dumb one.
I mean, if it goes through as is, so be it. It’s not the end of the world, but having every raider be mandated to have 375 LW’ing to keep up a 5% haste buff is pretty lame. I don’t know, maybe you like the thought of that, but most of us don’t.
I don’t get the vibe that people in my guild are particularly excited to be leatherworkers. If they need to, I’m sure they will, but I don’t think anyone would be too sad if Blizzard changed their direction on drums. You seem to imply that’s it’s only a bunch of casuals that aren’t happy with this lol.
Yeah, especially if you’re playing a less optimal DPS class. No one’s going to even think about taking you to anything unless you have drums.
My jaw kinda dropped at this Blue post. I honestly didn’t think Blizzard was this completely out of touch. Even proposing this as the initial change to drums just goes to show how little Blizzard actually pays attention to their community.
The 5% is insignificant so that the expectation is lower than WBs
They are both desirable, but WBs is in another rank
Well, people take like they are, so it is on you.
Whatever is the new meta. It is not comparable. They are not nearly powerful as WB are. The effect of having drums vs having world buffs is worlds away.
Even low effort guilds were making sure they were getting WBs because it made the content trivial. Drums do not do that.
So, you can just play without drums, you will be just fine. In fact, if having Drums make you feel so bad, please, make sure to create a guild of no-drums. There will be a lot people to go with you as I can see.
Others that want to parse and drum the drum… let them be
Yeah, we can. When Blizzard realizes just how poorly their poor decision is being received, they’ll do what they originally implied was going to happen. They will put some sort of CD on drums so raids won’t have to have 20+ players rotating them.
There’s next to zero chance Blizzard goes forward with this incredibly awful decision.
I mean I agree with you in some respects. Drums are not going to straight up break encounters like a classic raid stacked with fully buffed fury warriors lol. I also know that people want to pump, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
I just think we have to agree to disagree on two things:
(1) I think there’s going to be VERY few non-drum raids if this goes through as is. I think even so called casuals now are firmly in a min-max mindset. It’s permeated the entire game. I could be wrong, I admit it’s pure speculation at this point.
(2) I don’t think it adds anything really fun or dynamic to the game. I know, personal opinion. But we’re all going to have drums, and some weak aura or something, and we hit the drum when the WA tells us to. That’s it, that’s the engagement. You could just make it so everyone can only take one profession and give all players a 5% haste buff across the board. It would yield the same result. At least with tinnitus there might be some thought to line it up with BL or a burndown phase or w/e.
cough cough cough seal that didn’t exist in TBC cough cough cough
one of the rumors im seeing is on the BETA, drums are functioning raid wide. so you will only need 4 people with them.
If that’s the intention, the Blue post sure doesn’t make that apparent.
no it doesnt. but then again kaivax is just a messenger. easy for him to be drunk and misrepresent what was spoken to him.
I agree with you.
The players coming back to TBC or just starting have the min-max mindset. After all, it is a known game and people have it figured out.
I still do not understand why ask drums to be nerfed if everyone has a min-max mindset and want to go with drums.
We are not talking about 40 man raids.
There will be more casual guilds in TBC Classic than we ever had back when TBC was a thing. Even more than we had with Classic.
I still think people are over-pre-acting on this. It wasn’t an issue on TBC, it won’t be on TBC classic.
What is next. Limit 1 potion per combat? Make Dark/Demonic Runes not effective with level 70?
I’m seriously concerned with this new meta-against meta. Might ruin the fun of the game.
“it wasnt an issue in TBC so it wont be an issue now”
um
hello…
look at world buffs in classic. literally NO ONE ever stacked world buffs in vanilla. NOW EVERYONE DOES!!
