Not always true. I joined an emerald nightmare run as a group finder pug beginning of Legion, got along with the group well, they were on a realm connected to mine so they invited me to their guild. They became my first regular raid group, raiding throughout Legion (guild unfortunately disbanded after a bunch of people server transferred).
