I kinda don’t get why ww are complaint so much and no one even talks about warriors, ret/spriest/feral offhealing, mage self healing, and earth ele damage (1 global for 150k damage).
probably it is just me playing a survival hunter, i think i get most of the wins off ww > dh > dk > ret > rogue > mage > locks > priest. And arms warriors are extremely difficult for me to deal with. I also feel like BM hunters have an advantage on me but it is winnable. Ferals with 1 min convoke always beat me because if i trinket feign death my pet just die. But fortunately there aren’t many of them.
Believe or not i think ww is the easiest class to kill. ww is imo the class that takes most damage in the game? Within one trap, i can press 5 globals (kill shot, flanking strike, bomb, chakrams, raptor strike) to 100-0 them, sometimes through fortifying brew + karma if i crit my kill shot + bomb. The same 5 globals mostly deal 50-80% of a warrior’s hp in dstance. Is it an armor issue?
And their burst is so telegraphed: get a spin proc, incap → bone dust brew → stun → images → spin → rising sun kick → dragon whirling puch. I just trinket whenever ww uses tiger and sac roar the other one without tiger… it seems fine.
I get hunters are insanely op. But whenever i queue into a ww (or dh) i am honestly so happy. It is a lot better than a warrior/BM for me. Those randomly 20k execute are so hard to defend.
Yea tbh i dont really have much of a problem with windwalkers unless paired up with an rdruid in 2s. But anything with an rdruid is automatically 10x more difficult.
I feel like people take lower rated 2s so seriously and forget the game is balanced around 3s.
Theres a lot of clips of me hitting insanely high executes but in reality at high rating teams know how to shut people down incredibly well and I feel its the same for windwalker.
Most lower rated players dont expect insane damage or dont know what to react with vs some cds.
As an example my ret always wants me to trade fear for Xuen and my shamans root totem for images. There is counter play, at least as a warrior. But warrior has a counter for everything idk about other classes.
Warrior yea for sure; I’m talking about those classes that complain. I personally enjoy fighting WW but if you watch awc clips of people (absterge is a good one lol) getting 100-> 0 I can understand the frustration.
Well youre 50% right or wrong as there were 2 exploits that got fixed in the current season. Now it just does the dmg wich is supposed to be. Wich is way too much.
Root or fear the images and the tiger. Just have to try and counter their burst kind of similar to rouge. But when your caught in a leg sweep with no trinket it can be very scary, ww is one of those specs where if you make a simple mistake and get caught you can get 100-0 in a millisecond
This is correct. Warriors are very strong defensively. Any other class has to trade major defensives and hope the WW forgets to use a proc / buff up SKC more so they don’t 100-0 in a 50% dmg reduction wall.
They don’t really ‘balance’ anything anymore. They barely touched the massive outliers. Plus the “game is balanced around 3s” quote has been flying around since wrath, or cata I think? Hasn’t looked more balanced! /s
oh well it is so obvious that ww used bone dust brew and images, and dh did not press blur, darkness or anything and does not run away so he deserves to die? also you sure warrior don’t do this? charge is not on global so this damage literally happen instantly. And it is so hard to tell when this is going to happen.
No one is arguing that WW, DH hunt shenanigans, Ret cooldown stacking, Combust globaling people, or BM hunters pressing WWWWWWWWWWW and never having to use kill command are not stupid. They are really, really stupid.
WW is just a newer form of stupid that is also nigh impossible to defend against if the WW is remotely aware of their cds and procs.
The issue with WW damage compared to others is they can:
Pull some cd’s with just images+xuen and they last forever, and then do their SCK go right after.
Do their SCK go every 1 1/2 minutes which most spec don’t have endless answers for.
Set up their SCK go all by themselves with para important off target/leg sweep kill target and anyone stacked.
Run around doing nothing in between each go if needed and not get punished for it because the only thing they need is one clean SCK go.
It’s not impossible to live through a WW most times but their damage is extremely oppressive and it’s obvious a lot of people rerolled to them and I promise you they didn’t do it because they like a challenge. In my experience you kind of just run out of answers for them eventually unless you are very coordinated with your teammates on rotating stops while the WW and their team has no such requirement on their end. They just pump big dam and send it on their goes and people usually die and if not they’ll try again soon.
It’s probably because while the things you mentioned are overtuned, WW has no actual counter play. Even if you were to immediately trinket the stun and turtle (you’ll have to turtle for sure), the proc happens very often. With two charges of SEF, they need only wait until they can stun again, which is less than your trinket cd, then one shot you then.
This also assumes you have an immunity. Classes who do not likely will die even if they do immediately trinket. I have seen priests die in dispersion even. This is also ONLY the monks damage, and doesn’t even factor in other factors like a possible paladins Blessing of Summer or the partner DPS also using CD’s. The monk alone overkills by a large margin, so everyone popping cds is just unimaginable. Even without bonedust that kick can just be a death sentence.
And honestly, the worst a part is - both this burst, and their stun, are AoE. So not only will they 200% of your max hp in damage in 1s, they’ll do this damage to your entire team. Not even a shaman’s spirit link can stop it.
