Oh yes, I mean that they literally used the worst features of the last three expansions:
- Island expeditions are the same system as MOP scenarios.
- The mission table is the same system as WOD garrison missions. It’s worse because none of the missions have useful rewards, missions cycle too quickly, there are never enough missions (half the time there are 0), and your troops are determined by RNG so you can easily get a mission/troop combination that can’t even reach 100% completion chance (in which case the mission will almost always cycle before RNG gives you the necessary troops). Oh, and the mission table for Horde is on a little wooden dinghy in the harbor. Epic, guys.
- The war effort “research” is order hall “research”, only the bonuses are utterly trivial.
- Incursions are a rehash of Legion invasions. They’re worse because you’re either committing World of WarcrimeCraft or you’re using features that should have been in new battlegrounds years ago.
- The Azerite system is the bath-salt-smoking rooftop-mastrubating Florida Man cousin of the artifact weapon system. It’s incomprehensibly stupid and laughably bad, inconsistently designed, and serves to prevent you from equipping ilvl upgrades for weeks at a time.
- The AP grind is back, and it’s mandatory again, exactly like what players said they didn’t want.
These are literally the features of prior expansions that nobody wanted to see again, copy-pasted.
