I like WPVP, it’s unbalanced, chaotic and unpredictable.
Warmode taking away the WPVP channel killed the type of WPVP I used to enjoy. Folks would come out to defend far flung locations for RP reasons and it was fun protecting Brill or the Crossroads. No one was out here for a reward, we were just fighting the other RP dorks throwing funny emotes at us. Sometimes it’d just be a brawl in the desert or turn into full on raids defending the gates of Orgrimmar or holding the tunnel entry into Undercity.
People were typically easy going, no one was dropping slurs or anything else if we were losing. It was often names and guilds we recognized and not like today and just a mob of randos from Tich or Illidan.
I don’t dislike or hate PVP otherwise but BGs and Arenas feel too sterile with metas, comps, addons that tell you player CDs etc etc. Now I’m old and just too slow and my wrist hurts when I play too long lmao. WPVP in the past had a fun community around it and I think that’s what I miss the most.
