Seriously, Why?
This feels more restrictive than empowering.
Did Blizzard learn nothing from borrowed power?
Because it’s meant to be blademaster without windwalk and mirror images.
Restrictions in hero talents are fine since they define the playstyle that’s intended.
I also fail to see any link to your gripe and ‘borrowed power’.
Look at fury’s options.
Mountain Thane focusing on Thunderclap.
Slayer that forces Bladestorm.
Mountain Thane doesn’t fit my build because I’m not using Thunder Clap.
Slayer doesn’t work either because it forces Bladestorm.
Thus my RP character’s immersion is broken. They aren’t allowed to be what they’re supposed to be.
It’s the same playstyle restriction we got with borrowed power systems like covenants.
I don’t feel heroic I feel like I’m being told “you can only play the way we tell you.”
Same as them gutting wailing arrow and barrage from my MM Hunter.
I fail to see how your headcannon should dictate ideal dps talent choices.
Should we be running these by everyone’s snowflake account roleplay choices? Because the game would implode if we did as there will always be someone who is not happy.
This is one of those deal with it moments.
Well clearly you don’t get it. At all.
Who said Ideal? I sure didn’t. I’m talking about choice. About having options.
Ravager/Bladestorm was a choice node before hero talents were a thing.
So they should have been considered and accounted for. Other hero talents take choice nodes into account, like with druid’s keeper of the grove.
WHY have talent trees at all if NOT to have a choice?
No they were not in dragonflight.
Ravager was strictly prot/fury and bladestorm was strictly arms.
With the advent of hero talents both bladestorm and ravager were reintroduced to the respective dps specs due to the design around slayer requiring bladestorm for fury and the notion that their other hero talents in colossus and thane would prefer a less gcd intrusive capstone alternative to path through to their followup nodes.
Yeah I feel you, I wish it would be only an option.
Greil is just an apologist for Blizzard’s stupidity, its best to ignore them and actually give constructive advice to them, not balloon their egos.
So, being able to understand why things are the way they are due to keeping track of build to build changes of the class over multiple expacs and patches while having a good memory to be able to recall these things = blizzard apologist now?
Cmon mate you’re hiding behind an alt too, if you’re going to talk nonsense at least have the balls to not hide like a coward.
Im lost with your post. MT is all about Thunder Clap. Slayer is all about Bladestorm. Its just the way it is. I fail to truly see what you are wanting.
Ok, step by step.
Bladestorm is a choice node with Ravager.
That particular character of mine runs a Ravager build.
This is not supported by either Hero Talent option.
Other classes Hero Talents support BOTH options of their choice nodes.
I want that equality so that I can keep my build.
Does that explain it?
No it doesn’t. Slayer is about Bladestorm, not Ravenger. What part of that do you not understand? Mountain Thane is all about Thunder Clap. Nevermind, it sounds like a square peg round hole thing for you.
Make a new character that runs a bladestorm build then.
