Why does Ragnaros players get a bad rep?

Don’t fall for the bait of trolls or low IQ scum who think common sense is a phobia.

Seems no better or worse than any other server.

I think the main thing is players that like to tell everyone how much better they are have trouble with the language barrier.

Honestly, I think I have better luck with SA keys. They seem to know there might be language barrier and usually do KISS strats instead convoluted and unexpected pulls and skips. My name probably helps me get into them as well.

Do they even lift, bro?

Because they play like crap and speak a different language so you can’t even tell them how to be better.
No thanks.

Sargeras is not a LATAM realm, there’s only 3 Ragnaros, Quelthalas and Drakkari, that last one is for new players so it’s like not populated at all.

Actually Sargeras is located as US

Yeah I definitely believe you that there are racist out there spewing their hatred at anyone they think is Hispanic or Asian or Black, etc. There is a lot of hatred in society these days and I’m sure that anyone with a “I’m probably Hispanic” server tag would get more than their fair share

Overall though the reputation of Ragnaros is based on the players just being overwhelmingly bad. Pretty much everyone I’ve ever met has dozens of experiences with terrible Ragnaros players, and I don’t buy the language barrier argument either because 99% of English-speaking PUGs don’t even speak anyways

I’ve never had any more issues with them than with any other server out there.

Its just a bad reputation. Its a shame that the majority ruin it for the minority though :smirk:

There is always the one person that makes everything about something it’s not.

The only downside I’ve had with playing with non-English speaking players in any game is when you explicitly need to communicate. Most of the time in keys, I structure my groups in such a way that I don’t rely on the pug for anything critical to my strategies, regardless of whether I think they speak English or not.

Communication with pugs only becomes an issue when everything goes sideways and you need to resort to plan B to salvage the pull/run.

WoW is shockingly far behind other games in ways to communicate and strategize through language barriers.

If I’m playing LoL and I have a Chinese teammate, I have tools to tell them that they’re walking into a trap, or that I’m coming to help them, that I need help, etc. They’re not as good as voice comms, but voice comms is the gold standard in any team based game for a reason.

With WoW if I need to communicate with my teammate (who doesn’t speak English), my options are a handful of barebone emotes like /oom, google translate or by doing stuff like putting a marker on the ground and the same colour marker on his head for Muehzala and hoping he gets the hint that that’s where he’s supposed to go.

It’s not really a huge issue for me personally, because like I said I structure my groups in such a way that pugs rarely have to do more than just hit lust or use their covenant specific utility. But still, WoW could definitely use better tools to breach the language barriers.

Because they’re bad.

I don’t find them to be any more of a “bad” player than any other server.

However, language barriers are a thing no matter what the circumstance, game or not, and the languages/nationalities of the persons involved are irrelevant. If you can’t communicate with someone, it’s going to make tasks more difficult, most of the time.

When there’s a question of mechanics, it’s going to make the problem worse. I will say that a lot of them are either dual-language anyway or have gone to lengths to at least learn common terms that are important (“kick,” “interrupt,” “taunt,” “soothe,” etc.) in English for cases in which they’re grouped with English-only players. I would say those on Quel are more likely to have mastered those skills than those from Rag, yes. Point being it’s been awhile since I’ve actually had an instance fail over this issue, and when it does happen, it’s much more likely to happen in LFR than M+.

I have so many bad experiences with people from this server and its not a language barrier most of the time I had people from there ruin my Mythic Dungeons leave out of random or just take forever or not even know the basics how to play we need a blacklist for servers if this keeps up so I don’t ruin runs over just a person from there or another server with a bad rep ruin our day its at this point I avoid them completely I recently Made a Grim Batol run and they leave after 1st boss because of trinket which I understand and see anyone do but had a healer from the previous one cant heal the tank or us as a priest and tank walking into walls on his druid its like having a child play their toon

In my nearly 30 years of online gaming…

Brazilian, Chinese, and Russian players are the most unreliable and most likely to cheat/exploit or ruin your game on purpose for the luls.

I’ve played with a ton of good players from those countries. But the ratio makes it not worth taking a chance. I’m going to find 8 bad players from those countries for every 1 good gamer that knows what to do and doesn’t ruin things on purpose.

MMO games, FPS games, name the genre it doesn’t matter. Anecdotally I’ve found it’s not worth my time to give the benefit of a doubt.

Because either they ruin your key on purpose, or they’re just really dumb people. I was in a group with a Ragnaros warrior “tank” with a 2100 io. That tank was getting melted from simple trash pulls, and then gets 1 shotted by the first boss. I’ve started inspecting his gear and noticed that he only has a 1h weapon and isn’t using a shield. instead he has a cloak transmog that kinda resembles a shield. We’ve asked him where’s his shield, he replied that he doesn’t have one. We yelled at him and asked him why queue as a tank then. He replied by insulting us and saying it’s because he’s hoping for a shield to drop from the last boss. Either he’s trolling or he’s extremely dumb.

It’s usually Portuguese.

Unfortunately there isn’t an accurate way to answer this question without sounding like a racist… but we all know the stereotype.
