It’s pack mentality and since Blizzard likes to segregate players in modes, then slap a layer xrealm on top for zero accountability they just appear to be everywhere.
the two people with you were arseholes its that simple
I literally only want to play with new players.
I believe the problem is within how WoW has been build over the years and how it hasn’t changed much.
Take FFXIV for example. The sprout system is by itself a great helper. You show to people that you are new, people know you’re new.
Another big thing is that DPS meters are not allowed there. “Oh crap, but how can I live without knowing my DPS???”.
The DPS meters exist, they know it exists, they know you can use it to check your own DPS if you want to.
But the moment you flame someone because of their dps… you reveal you have used illegal software to have access to that kind of information. And then toxic people would either have the option to suck it when someone is bad or actually try to teach them if they want their content to be done quicker.
I don’t think the wow community would receive it well, but I’d definitely implement those two systems if I cared about the issue in wow.
The more casual the content is, the more elitist and toxic the overall players seem to be. I don’t know why it’s this way, but it is.
And since leveling is the most casual content in the game, it has the meanest players
Well a part of wish that they have AI companions for atleast low level dungeons
Dont implement it for current expansions
Just for older ones
Because the game is made to be so difficult that they feel proud about being better than new players, and players that aren’t as good as they are. Including players that don’t know how to use Add-ons. This is a psychology issue being catalysed by a development issue. Lawsuits can probably be created from this point.
lol
What’s the number to the feelings police?
Because there’s no commendation system like in FF14
Maybe don’t post about every single bad experience when it’s disproportional to how much there actually is.
Group goes smoothly, no one cares. The minute someone has a bad experience, TO THE FORUMS!
The biggest thing that makes those systems work in FF is that they actually have a zero tolerance policy and enforce it. If you act like most of the bad players here you’re gonna eat some hefty penalties or just have your entire account revoked.
Blizzard has let it get to this point because they’ve been incredibly hands off with most things they added like the vote to kick for example. That thing gets fired off for all kinds of reasons or literally none at all and just because they could. If you remove someone in ff you better have a good reason, otherwise they will punish you all for misusing the system.
I had a person try to vote kick a new guy just the other day when I was helping family level and he kept dying to everything. He got lost for all of 30 seconds before the healer initiated the vote. We had majority so we made sure it didn’t happen and told them if they did it again they would be the one out as we didn’t need them to finish the dungeon because I could off heal just fine.
This wasn’t some +20 key where I would be less tolerant of mistakes that should be ironed out before you grind 15’s. It was a leveling dungeon and the finish timer went from like 6-7 minutes to like 8 because I had to travel back and walk the new guy to where the group was.
The issue is usually caused by people who think they’re good because they’ve mastered doing the lowest forms of content and then their big ego’s take it out on anyone still learning because how haven’t they already watched a wowhead guide on every single thing they do on their first playthrough.
You rarely see this level of attitude in the higher tier content because it’s a smaller pool of players and they understand that things don’t always work out right and you gain absolutely nothing by acting like a child.
You still get those handful of jerks that were simply born that way and they’ve never had to be held responsible for acting like a stubborn mule. But I see way more talking down in areas like lfr, random queues or the worst of all, low level keystones where certain types of people (not all) think themselves superior for mastering entry level content and get upset as new or not as skilled players go in to learn or do the content they feel most suited to do.
Once Blizzard cracks down in a way FF does, only then can we get close to that level of usefulness that would help grow the game for the better. The sprout icon isn’t a bad idea, but lack of severe punishment for those that act as I stated above will only make them even more of a target without proper enforcement.
If those types could learn that there is always someone better than them (as that goes for all of us as even the top players shift in and out) and drop the attitude, the entry levels of each type of content could be such a boon for learning and increased participation in those areas.
passive aggressiveness instead, joy.
If there’s penalty, then people won’t bother, and seek less punishing avenues. Do you really want to legitimately kick people if you can get banned for doing so for being “wrong?”

People can use a map.
Unfortunately players like that will always be around. Some players forget what it’s like to be new, you know. They rant and rave about you not being good but don’t offer any help. Advice for players that are new, maybe practice dungeon/raid behavior out in the overworld. Get a feel for it and the more you improve, move on to more challenging mobs and locations until yuh feel confident enough ti start doing dungeons and other group content
The best solution is to make the best gear available through solo queueing and solo questing. The end.
Some people flip out at the prospect of help because it’s just a game. Everyone good at the game is an elitist and has no life.
Tis times like these I love seeing people have a grand time when I am on my level 10 Twink (As a Tank Brewmaster) Monk helping others burn through dungeons. Even better during the Battle for Azeroth ones since New Players can only do those (unless I be mistaken).

I am sorry you had this experience, but I have been playing since 2004 and I have literally never encountered this.
Better than openly tearing into someone for simply learning and enjoying a game. I’ll take that and snark all day so long as it doesn’t cross into the usual areas of disrespect.
How it works in ff is the reason has to be a valid one. Kicking someone for slowing the run down (as I’ve seen many times over the years) isn’t a valid excuse in most situations unless they’re actively afking nonstop.
Kicking people for being bad is also not a good excuse in that game.
The key takeaway here isn’t just being punished for removing someone, it’s being punished for removing someone for a silly reason. The content where we see this happen regardless of what any of us vets of the game think is leveling and for learning mostly. New players absolutely have the right to do that content and learn or even struggle as they grasp the game.
When you get to max level content past the entry level tiers is when kicking someone for slowing your run down is a more acceptable practice as it won’t be the normal mode and the person should’ve had the time to learn and practice those places before venturing further as to not be a hinderance on their team.
This isn’t just some one size fits all and ff does it the same way. There are different rules for different ranges and what would be punishable for abusing a kicking system in leveling content won’t apply in progression or end game content where you’re expected to carry your own weight in a pug setting.
Same thing applies to lfr where you go to see the story and learn and they have scaling systems in place to help achieve that goal. Then in normal a pug group doesn’t have to tolerate you learning as you should’ve had some practice in the earlier tier and you may even wanna watch a guide video or two before progressing the higher content with strangers.
They sure can!
Wow also has some of the worst maps for multiple dungeons that can absolutely not be helpful to a brand new player that just unlocked dungeon finder. Many of their map layouts can be confusing along with some of them where you have to interact to move to multiple floors to see where your groups icons are.
A brand new person isn’t gonna be accustomed to those maps or dungeons layout like someone who has been doing those things for nearly 2 decades.
When I run those low dungeons to help friends and family I always make sure we have majority as I won’t allow people like that to pick away at fresh blood over something so silly as a new person getting lost in a dungeon that will set us back WHOLE MINUTES OF OUR LIVES!!!
There is a time and place for everything, being that guy isn’t one of them in leveling or entry level learning content.

And thus people NEVER get better because they can go on thinking they’re the best.

Groups disband and reform instead of kicking people and completing stuff because of this. No, you don’t want to be stuck at whatever point because people are bad.
