Very new to rogue - Just got mine to 80 a few days ago. Since then I’ve done about 10 BGs and a little WPvP.
Nearly every time I disengage my stealth breaks and I can NOT tell why. There’s no debuffs on me and I’m not taking damage. I’ll cloak, vanish, skulk around, and then stealth will just fall off. In one example I was fighting a mage, went back to re-engage, and stealth dropped right before my opener when I was standing next to them.
Mad frustrating, but this is less of a complaint and more literally asking:
What abilities/spells/talents are causing this to happen? I read the undead racial DoT can be a problem but not sure what else.

Nah, its just a very persistent bug for the most part, or BS abilities that hit you when they shouldnt.
Rookery is a prime example of this, i hate that dungeon.

There are a few abilities that will trigger damage procs from stealth which will not only pull you out, it can also fail to trigger the subterfuge window. Ones I found at least last season were adrenaline rush with fatebound (will trigger a damage coin) or roll the bones/snd/any other ability that doesn’t normally break stealth triggering your cerseis circlet or damage enchants and trinkets. (Sap has been fine)
Fairly annoying, but a way to beat avoid it is not to target them until you know you want to hit them for sure.

I hope you give Blizzard feedback about how it feels to learn to play a rogue.
So many things could break stealth, besides obvious enemy AoE abilities that deal damage. Did you shadowstep and trigger auto attack? Your spec and build could be the cause. Did you have any DoTs up on the enemy? Did they have any pots/buffs/auras active? Did it happen in a certain zone?
In IoC recently, a paladin on a mount targeted me from 30ish yards and ran me down while I was on foot stealthed. Not sure how. Welcome to rogue and the perpetual stream of stealth bugs.

symbols of death no longer works from stealth… so if you hit t hat. you break stealth.
weapon enchants that you use that do dots will break stealth.
pve trinkets that do DOTs will also break stealth.
totems, some paladin spells… some caster spells have large radius… sometimes you may get hit by hunter rapid fire from la la land… so many things can break stealth these days.

I noticed that today myself, not in WPvP but actually in PvE. I was in stealth and approaching a mob (mob did not have stealth detection) but as I would approach them, before even attacking, my stealth would break. I thought it was my trinkets so I removed them but it persisted.
VERY frustrating on a class predicated on being able to get the drop on your enemies.

Singular Focus from Deathstalker is why Deathstalker is trash. Swap to Trickster and all of it goes away. No stealth breaks.
None of what Saifu said is true. He is playing Deathstalker, and that is why he is breaking his own stealth.
Blizzard has not fixed the Deathstalker Singular Focus bug, and they never will, because they do not care, and all of you are too lazy to email them.
