Why does my ret Paladin feel so good?

So I’m going through all characters and leveling them to 90 one by one.
I’ve done feral druid, frost dk, ww monk, mm hunter, frost mage, and now on one of my paladins.

My ret paladin feels GOOD. Like, why is it so good? I feel like I’m attacking as fast as my feral druid.
Does haste decrease our GCD on attacks?
I would have bet a million dollars that the last time I played one of my paladin alts extensively (probably back in December) that we attacked SLOOOOOW.
I am attacking SO FAST. Not my auto attack speed, I mean how often I can press a button to do something.

It feels great! I’m not complaining. I like button-mashing classes. I don’t care about the whole GCD locked stuff, I just like mashing buttons.

But again, why?? I do NOT remember my paladin(s) playing like this.

EDIT:

I’m guessing must be a haste thing, and I just don’t remember how fast I attacked when I last played one of my rets.

I installed an addon to see GCD and I’m at only 1.18, which is definitely under the 1.5 seconds I thought paladins used.

I’m at 27% haste at 81, so I’m expecting that by the time I’m 90 I’ll slow down a lot. Lame, but at least I think I figured it out.

Yeah, that’s what it is.

It’s still somewhat a “full” rotation at 90 and you have options to make sure of that.

The spec is in a good place at the moment, enjoy your time!

It is- 27% haste is a lot.

Yes it does. As far as I’m aware all classes have haste reducing their GCD or cast times.

Paladin is 1.5 seconds by default, but as said before you do have a lot of haste.

Additionally, between the Templar hero tree and the Crusade capstone Ret gets a ton of haste when popping wings.

One quirk about Ret that you will feel at max level that is sort of love/hate in the community is that we do the majority of our damage in the cooldown window and very little damage outside of it. You’ll have to decide for yourself if you’re on the love side of the divide or the hate side.

You got that right. We’re always catching strays on the forums, even when we’re minding our own bidniz on the side.

Okay, this was a good one.
