Why does it feel like

No, they’re from that machine you buy, that makes your own soda, except they added too much flavoring…

yes this… Tanked a group this weekend and was going out of my mind they were making it so much harder, i would say i’m pulling in here… i’d go to next room pull and look around and 2 of the others would be with me. We wiped twice when we didnt need to. 1 of those that wouldnt stay back was the healer.

Speaking on , when did it become appropriate for a healer do try and DPS and secondary heal heal…

That’s not what made it a little harder. It was a little harder because it was new and didn’t have a decade+ of private servers and omniscient knowledge of game mechanics and min/maxing that anyone can access.

i haven’t tried classic dungeons get, in privates wasn’t hard but you need some planning before every pull.
I read a lot of posts about aoefest in classic dungeons and that wasn’t my impression from privates…

some people say that they are better, but i don’t believe that crap.
in wotlk people get the aoefest mindset (very similar to the things described about classic dungeons) and then get wrecked by the cata dungeons…

when i leveled in mop, people died in cata dungeons pretty easy (basically a weak version of cata), people weren’t better…

i gonna guess classic tuning for dungeons is easier than what i played, but to the point of making aoefest without any kind of cc viable then you aren’t better, sounds more like wotlk 2.0.

I’m not even at the MC point, but I did SFK last night with a group entirely level 22 and 23. Arugal at the end used to waste groups if they didn’t do it right. Void bolts? Teleport? Nah. He did MC me at one point, but that’s it.

Things are definitely easier in a way that isn’t simply explained as we got better. I get that we know more. I get that our internet connections are better. I get that we’re dealing with 1.12 talents.

But, really, I did those dungeons on alts from 1.11 (when I started) all the way to the end of Wrath. I knew them inside and out, where trash was, what bosses did. I had good internet for the time (broadband). Dungeons didn’t feel that easy on alts in Wrath, with enchants and gear from mains.

There is a difference.

NOTE: I’m still having a blast. I’m not condemning WOW Classic. I just accept that it does not feel quite right. (And I never once touched a private server, so it’s not like I have any comparison to those.)

I think at this point DPS will always find a way to make it play like retail.

And I don’t think it’s mostly the retail players that are doing this, I think it’s private server crowd. I hear discussions about the best way to get the most princess runs done per hour I can’t help but think to myself, “you people would really like retail.”

Addons like questhelper and the map one that shows where all quests, mobs, etc are located, information being easily queried on wowhead, guides and videos on literally everything. I remember in 2005 spending hours sometimes just trying to find out where to turn in a quest. It wasn’t always on a map picture on wowhead.

Maybe more accurate. Soda Stream.

What we really need is some Mexican Coke WoW.

Just nitpicking, but the talents were mostly revamped before 1.12

Because people are using Moar Dots.

We had tomtom and other gps style questie addons in vanilla.

This is it. Given that WoW brought MMOs into the mainstream, there were tons of players that didn’t even know what tank/healer/dps meant, let alone concepts like aggro or pull or wipe.

Rogues pulling aggro and dying and then getting salty about it used to be the rule, when now it’s the exception.

To be fair… Rag really doesn’t do much damage to the Raid unless people are idiots in their positioning or decide to go swim in the lava

Luckily there’s always other players to fight to provide a challenge

Clearly, because you didn’t get some of the PUGs I did when running Deadmines.

Let’s think about it this way:

If you have to keyboard turn before moving away from Baron Geddon’s Inferno, the turning will make you stay in the AoE more, which means all your melee dps will take more fire damage ticks, which could more or less kill them without fire resistance gear. That also puts more pressure on healers if the dps don’t use bandages, which empties their mana more coupled with Ignite Mana which could become a problem. Same thing with the Living Bomb placement, keyboard turning would make runners lose precious seconds for the placement.

Just the fact that people strafe or camera spin nowadays instead of keyboard turning makes the fight SIGNIFICANTLY easier. That’s one basic thing that people overlook. Imagine all the other small things that would make the fights easier, and you could see how Classic would be much easier than back in the day.

Latin American servers coming soon :stuck_out_tongue:

You are a more experienced player. 15 years of playing can develop a lot of skill. Also the content is not “new” to you anymore.
