A couple of weeks ago, I completed a +10 run, but in the end, all I got was the Corrupted Egg Shell (an F-tier trinket) in the Great Vault.
Nothing feels worse than this.
You open the Vault with high hopes, thinking you’ll finally get a mythic piece of gear, only to end up with junk.
It completely killed my motivation to run M+ last week. Nothing feels worse than putting in effort only to get nothing worthwhile.
I’m already falling behind, and I’ve been working hard to catch up, but then bad luck hits you like a punch in the face.
How do you adjust your mindset to keep playing despite this?

You could get 3 choices, but you chose to do the minimum.

I’ve already done my best; all the other slots are filled with heroic gear.
However, they’re all duplicates or equipment I don’t need.
In the end, I decided to keep this corrupted eggshell as a memento.
If you don’t believe me, I can equip it and show you.
If you had done 8 10 keys instead of 1 10 key, you would have had 3 choices that were mythic gear.

I know, but I’ve already done my very best.
The week when it still couldn’t get the Glided Crest at +8, I pushed myself to complete a +10 Mythic Key.
I’ve fully farmed the Runed Crest.
That was two weeks ago. 10/15
So next week, you need to push yourself to complete 4 +10 keys, or 8 +10 keys. To give yourself the best chance of getting a good upgrade.

I barely managed to reach +10 at the very last moment, only to end up with a piece of junk. I feel like I’m on the verge of a breakdown and can’t continue anymore.
I’d like to ask everyone how to cope with this kind of mindset, this feeling of always being behind and never able to catch up.
I’m so tired. Even if I keep pushing myself now, I’m still several Myth items behind everyone else. I’ve had enough. I’m done playing.

Honestly dude its just a game. All 3 of my mythic slots on my main were worse than currently equipped heroic. I rolled verse for days and bad trinkets. This xpac is rough on mythics. The gearing is kinda trash with the low drop rates, no actual mythic drops, and multi tier currencies. It feels bad but at the end of the day its just items in a game. Just find a group of friends to run with and honestly all your issues just disappear. I only run 10 keys with guild homies but outside of that I don’t really care much.

you could just play the game for fun… then the loot is a bonus. why would you continue pushing something that you don’t enjoy.

Accept you’re at your gear cap for the season, or push yourself and do more +10s. The vault is RNG, the best you can do is to try to roll more dice to smooth out the variance.

This would be less of an issue if there was less trinkets in circulation. I never understood why they didn’t move to one trinket slot instead of two when moving gearing to being RNG-dependant.
How is this the Vault’s fault? You knew it was full RNG and decided to put all your eggs in 1 basket when you had the option for 3.
You also can get 636 created gear so you saying that the vault is the reason you are falling behind is a non argument.
You are a 618 ilvl. Just farm 8’s for crests, get into the low to mid 620s and rofl stomp 10s for loot if it bugs you that much. You can also craft gear up to 636 to help your ilvl.
The vault isnt ment to be how you gear, its a gamble that will sometimes give good gear out.

Clench your fist and carry on. IF anything grinds my gears (pun intended) is the lack of bad luck protection or an option to exclude items out of the vault. This week I had melty seeing 2 staves in my vault when I will never use one since I have my embellishments and needing to take a socket this week. This is also with having all 3 mythic raid slots AND 8 10s done.
But if you’re able to knock out 8 10s it reduces the likelyhood of ending up with a dead item…though it makes it much worse when you get 3 dead items
Time for you to take a break from the game. Seriously.
