Why does Blizzard give *almost* what some people have been asking for a long time?

I find the Dracthyr to be jarringly out of place for this entire universe.

I’d rather have Drust or Vrykul as a playable race than the Dracthyr.

There needs to be different body types for the races. I’d much rather have a thicker, more stocky Dracthyr race.

Why can’t we get COMPLETELY robotic Mechagnomes instead of the bizarre body horror we got?

High elves: Most of the complaining about this one has died down the only people complaining about it are people who just wnna complain

Playable dragons: EL OH EL, the dracthyr are such a half baked race that half the armor in the game does not even show up on them and blizzard sold it to people as a feature

Housing: Garrisons are not housing, it was an attempt at it, and a good start, but it is NOT housing and saying so is disingenuous as all hell.

Because dragons in Dragon form are gender neutral looking. Only their visage form is different. But Dracthyr aren’t actual dragons. We are a dragonoid test tube experiment. And for me, that is fine. Still fun race/class to play.

So now it’s “You can try to cosplay as a High Elf character with very limited customization options and actually you’re still a Void Elf”. It’s not High Elves. :person_shrugging:

I don’t understand why some people always feel the need to argue against simple stuff like customization options that benefit everyone.

Human female run has entered the chat. It’s like something is stuck in their pants and they have to run to the nearest toilet

They are.

You can take your blueberry elf and make them look like a proper high elf.

Also turns out, that the only real difference between Ren’dorei (void elves) and Sin’dorei (blood elves)/Quel’dorei (high elves) is that void elves were infused with a lot of void energy. They didn’t stop being high elves.

Please tell me which customization option I am arguing against. If you mean, you want them to just rip off blood elf hairstyles and give them void elves, then yes, as I don’t really see a benefit to that. If you don’t like the hairstyle choices void elves have, why not ask for new hair styles rather than just blatantly trying to get someone elses?

Blizz devs went to the Monkey’s Paw School of Vidya Gamin’.

So if Blood Elves and Void Elves are the same, why can’t we have shared hair styles then?

You’re literally arguing against stuff like hair styles. More custimization options for everyone are always a benefit. If you don’t care how your characters look, that’s fine. But it’s not fine to tell others that it doesn’t matter and that they should be satisfied with the few limited stuff the one race has.

Someone elses? A few sentences ago you said Ren’dorei and Sin’dorei are the same. So what is it now?

Because Blizzard likes to think they are clever, when in reality they almost always fumble the bag and end up having to do more work for themselves at a later date.

  • Void Elves? Thought they’d be clever with “better high elves”, now they had to make customizations to allow both Void and Blood elves to look like high elves.
  • Dracthyr? Wanted to be special and create a unique player model, now they have to go through the effort of figuring out how to add all the other classes.
  • Garrisons: Ended up being part of the reason WoD was sunk and now they’ll never hear the end of “real player housing”.

This is the result of what happens when they (Blizzard as a whole) spent more than half of their existence being treated like rockstars who could do no wrong.

they are literally high elfs. before they became touched with the void they called themselves blood elfs, and before that guess what they called themselves, thats right high elfs…you can even customized to have the light skin and blonde hair that your probably so desperate for.

Because like I said, hairstyles don’t make a race. You’ll be fine without their hairstyles, I promise you.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. I was one of the people here on the forums who was very vocal about getting natural skin tones and natural hair colors and non-void hair options for void elves back before they were added.

Again, hairstyles don’t make a race. you trying to be like "but if they’re the same, why can’t I have the same hairstyles is amusing.

well I’m gonna head cannon this into "The alliance hairstylists don’t know how to do the same hairstyles as the horde hairstylists and vice versa.

That is why you can’t have the same hairstyles.

But seriously… why do you think you need to have the blood elf hairstyles? What benefit does it actually provide beyond “I don’t like the void elf hair styles”?

  1. Far more options.
  2. Traditional and more ‘neat’ hair styles. As I said, the few options VE men have are bald, half-bald/receding hairline or scraggy af, like pseudo-goths. No braids, no sleek and tidy hair and just one single pony tail that’s cut in half because of missing tendrils.
In return the BE could get the VE hair styles as well.

As I said, I don’t get at all why you’re so vehemently arguing against that. Would it personally hurt you to see VE with a proper braid?

Thanks for agreeing that Blood Elves are the High Elves.
Blood elves are the High Elves of Quel’Thalas.

Those “high elves” that are NOT in quel’thalas do not belong to the kingdom, as they chose to live with their “former allies”

However, a fraction of the high elves refused to rename themselves blood elves, and while they are physiologically the same race, the difference is only political. Unwilling to lead a divided nation, Regent Lord Lor’themar exiled from Quel’Thalas those who refused to follow the ways of the blood elves, while others chose to rejoin their former allies, arriving to a cold reception due to their previous secession. Since high elves did not gather in any significant numbers and are a very small group of individuals, they are a rare sight across Azeroth, and are commonly mistaken for blood elves.

  • In the Shadow of the Sun
  • The Warcraft Encyclopedia: High Elves
  • Iridi and Vereesa’s meeting in Night of the Dragon, chapter 11

Not only to mention that these you’re asking for “High Elves” are an extinct race:

As a people, the high elves are all but extinct: the remnants of the remnants of a fallen race. They cannot even truly be said to have a culture, only a past filled with glory and regret. Though they are scattered all over the world, without common opinions, goals, or any official leader.

  • The Warcraft Encyclopedia: High Elves

So yeah, that is why you didn’t get “high elves” in the alliance as a playable race.

So if you want to be a High Elf, create your Horde Character or stay blue like that.

We don’t want them, this has been highly established in multiple threads by a lot of people myself included, there might be a person here and there that would be okay with that but most people don’t so yeah no, we will keep our hairstyles and you can keep yours.

If you want ours play a Blood Elf instead of a Void Elf.

Would it hurt you to ask for hairstyles that are unique to void elves rather than just taking from blood elves? I mean, seriously, you want more customization, but are apparently unwilling to ask for something new.

Because if they gave people what they want, it would imply three things - neither of which are true ;

  1. Players know what they want to an accurate degree.
  2. They are listening to the players feedback.
  3. Daddy Blizzard does not know best.

read this back to yourself and reflect for a moment your upset about hair styles in a video game…

“I don’t want it, so naturally my opinion reflects the majority of players”. These forums never disappoint.

Blizzard already made it perfectly clear a while ago that they don’t have many ressources for frequently developing new character customizations. So it would be no problem to just use assets that are already here.
I still haven’t seen proper arguments from your side why it shouldn’t happen. “You don’t need it, stop asking” isn’t an argument.

Aaah. So making suggestions and giving feedback what could be done better is “being upset”. If it does make you feel good to fight against constructive criticism, go on. I find it rather amusing.

Want me to quote lots of other people just to make you look more dumb because I’d do it gladly.

There’s also tons of quotes from people who want it, so I don’t see your point at all. Just because there’s some people who might agree with you doesn’t mean you’re the majority. I don’t even know why you feel the need to personally attack people and call them dumb just because they wished there were more proper hair styles for a race. Go touch some grass if you feel like people want to take away your precious pixels.
