Ion is in control of the game. He’s the ultimate PvE nerd that has a Scarab Lord title and was GM of Elitist Jerks one of the premier raiding guilds in the past. He does not value the PvP side of the game.

Classic is more popular than BFA.

Classic doesn’t have arenas or bgs.

You predict what happens next.

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/malganis/gurgthock lead dev’s character is honor level 5 so his only PvP experience in legion and BfA is killing flagged NPCs in warden tower world quests.

Getting holinka back for 9.0 is potentially something to look forward to.

Ion is a computer, he looks at statistics more than “fun”. He could care less if it’s fun as long as people log in and mindlessly grind like they were till Classic dropped.

You should be because that is not him. And Holinka has been back for months now.

Nah that’s definitely ion’s character https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eczxxR7hnkQ

Holinka did come back some time ago but the lack of any class changes or PvP changes suggest he’s not working on anything we’ll see until next expansion.

Can’t deny that I guess

People hate what they can’t understand, the remaining devs are all failures at pvp (shut up pvp guy) or simply were never good enough to even try it and I think one of them bought Rbg rating or something like that?

Since Blizzard is no longer Blizzard and customer satisfacion isn’t a priority anymore, I think they can get away with decimating the pvp aspect of the game as long as they keep monetization up.

I highly doubt its hate as much as something they obviously don’t care about one way or another.

We all complain but keep playing (yes I know I have a problem), and they know we’ll keep coming back.

Besides, I reckon that even if ALL of us quit it would merely be a blip on their radar.

Exactly. I think this is the most accurate explanation.

I’d actually welcome holinka back in a heartbeat

Which seems odd to me because pvp is what the masses want and pay for. CoD, Fortnite, Apex, Rocket League, Madden, 2k, FIFA and the list goes on.
All of the biggest channels out there, from any game are pvp in content (with the exception of asmon)
To think of all the free publicity WoW is throwing away. I get it, WoW is and always will be a PVE game first and they put pve first. I can even respect that.
It’s clear that activision/blizzard doesn’t care as much as they used to about player experience. The care more about keeping the subscriptions rolling in. Fine.
And the saddest part of it all? WoW isn’t even a pvp game, yet it’s still the best pvp experience out there. We’re all in on this secret, that so many younger kids will never know about because there’s no exposure for them because no one is streaming WoW pvp content on a large scale

PvP is dead in WoW, LONG LIVE WOW PVP.

I hate to say it, but that’s essentially exactly what’s happened. PvP in WoW is officially getting the burial it doesn’t deserve.

Maybe it has something to do with the way you treat each other on the forum. Could you imagine if a blue came to post in here how much vile lash back, threats, and hate they’d be met with?

Perhaps if players in the PvP section started treating each other with a little respect and dignity things might look a little better and communication would pick back up.

The PvP section of the forum is a jungle, and not a tourist part of a jungle either. There are no safaris going on here.

He’s been back for a while. This isn’t a secret.

Ythisens was always treated well when he came in these forums, I actually disagree with this statement

Yes there are times people can be toxic but they’ve also imo learned when not to be

But when they’re completely ignored people are likely to be much more volatile and it starts a negative feedback loop, but at the same time I also can’t expect people to be empathetic with internet anonymity when they’re shown they don’t matter.

There’s no point in arguing with this guy Dilly, he believes corruptforging is a good idea and that arenas should be content gated; there is no logic within that thing he calls a brain.

None of those games you list are MMOs or RPGs.

PvP has always has less player representation than PvE. It is your opinion that they don’t care about pvp or the player experience.

The disconnect is that many are looking for a PvP mini game with no outside influence from the larger game. They are trying to create PvP in an MMO and tie it to the world. They just need to pick a group of players they want and let some players go. Compromising makes no one happy in the end.
