Why do you get punished with a 30min debuff if you get kicked from RDF?

Healing dungeons to level this toon. No issues in any previous dungeons… Randomly kicked during City of Threads right on first boss pull which takes 30 seconds to get to, in fact it kicked/booted me right after the boss casted first frontal. Healed the entire group during that time both casting Santify and PoM.

Whispered one of the dudes asking why I was kicked, was replied with ‘git gud’ and he puts me on ignore? The other dudes don’t even respond to the question.

Don’t care about being kicked at this point just wondering why you get punished with a 30min debuff if you do?

Get out of the mud
Wash with a sud
Go and git gud
So you won’t fall with a thud.

Anyone who says “git gud”, which rhymes with “mud” is someone straight out of Deliverance.

This goes to the old days of Wrath when LFG was put in. At first there was no deserter for being kicked, so people who got into a dungeon they didn’t want to do demanded to be kicked and held their group hostage until they were. Adding the debuff was Blizzard’s answer.

Sorry you ran into some jerks. The entire system desperately needs an overhaul. Kicking someone shouldn’t be the default behavior.

This all got started years ago, prolly before you started playing

Tanks, and sometimes healers/DPS also, would get a dungeon they didn’t want so they would refuse to do their job and demand to be kicked from the group.

Back then, if left on your own, you got the deserter debuff, hence the OG name “deserter”
If you got kicked, you got no penalties of any kind.

So blizz had to make it so getting kicked out also gave you the deserter debuff to stop players from doing these types of things.

Now kicking is used to troll people because theres no penalty for kicking people for the lol’s. At most you don’t get to kick people for a little while.

When blizzard has to act on that, then it will be a total mess.

Good luck solving this one.

Now you can prolly see why some of us older players have given up on group content.
