Look at it this way… You go to the movies, get your popcorn and soft drink, and find a seat. The minute the show starts, the people behind you start talking and laughing loudly. No they aren’t directly targeting you, but their actions are stopping you from hearing the movie you just paid to see.

So you go to the theater manager and ask that he do something about the disruptive patrons. His reply? “You can always go to a different theater.” “You can stay and hope you can hear part of the dialogue.” “You can just go home and watch tv.”

Would any of these be acceptable to you? Should disruptive patrons be tolerated by the theater management? Should it be tolerated in WoW?

Another false analogy. Talking during the movie is, generally-speaking, explicitly against the rules, and those people would be asked to be quiet or leave the theater.

So let me get this straight… chat channels are also sharded? Cause back in the day you hopped toons and got your side to come and deal with it. If sharding is the issue then invite people to a group. Either the leveler will be sharded away from the camper or the calvary will be there with the camper.

Thats just the PvP solution, mind you. The person leveling has options to get away from that if they dont want it.

Yes and on pve servers this was reportable as griefing and resulted in escalating actions. PVE servers had different rules. I imagine that applies here too.

the MVP who posted above seems to think differently. if they were attacking low level players who had pvp enabled, then no that would not be griefing. but attacking quest givers in a random zone that gives them no real benefit but to annoy other players yeah that ain’t cool and should be stopped

Not even close to the degree the Alliance does. I have players of both factions and I don’t remember when I have seen Horde killing low level quest givers. But go to the Barrens almost any random day and you will see the Alliance doing it.

Exactly. Working as intended. And the intention is to provide low level players as easy griefing victims for antisocial 12 year olds as well as anybody who wants to see how many players they can drive away from the game.

Because devs serve up low level players to griefers as a way for bored players to blow off steam. Griefers are the target demographic in the game.

Is it any wonder there are so few new players? If they don’t like the fact that griefing is keeping them from playing the game, they can come to the forums and be told that “level 20’s can kill level 120’s” is the “solution” to the issue.

You’re wrong, people were actually BANNED on pve servers for griefing. Rules were different on pve since peoples options for dealing with griefers were limited.
